Re: Dart loop BCU access/egress point.
Not directly related to the BC access point: Info from the Dart country park is there is no access to the park this winter till end of February 2022 This will probably mean the lay by is extremely busy. Might be worth groups meeting up and sharing cars before heading up/down the roads to the river f...

The Pistyll Productions are absolutely smashing it with content. #lockdown (Some of them live next to the Oetz river)

All talk, no trousers. An insight into the mind of Danny MacAskill. For all those (the whole world) stuck indoors at the moment, some thought on how to construct future videos?

Re: Burn, Machno, 9R???
Took a Machno last spring to a bunch of new (to me) rivers on the German/Austrian border. Paddled possibly the hardest river I've done for some time, and the Machno did not put a foot wrong. Steep, waterfalls, technical rapids, blind boulder chokes into waterfalls, tree snags, nasty tricky take offs...

Heavy fabric kayaking gear sucks.
Do you need breathable fabric? 100
I'll take fabric over latex feet.
If you can't do the zip up and undo, how you gonna solo paddle?

Re: French Alps levels
The Alps is a big place. The whole of the alps isn't generally shut, just regions. If regions are closed by the authorities, find rivers out of the area to paddle. Or spend a couple of days doing non boating activities whilst the levels calm. And help the raft companies clearing rivers. Or just drin...

Re: Sue's Canoes?
This sucks, and not the first friend who has had to close their canoe shop. Friends and local paddlers see the amount of support shops give, like turning up with vans full of demo boats to club nights, running demo days, supporting up and coming paddlers, giving time to judge, ref, help out at event...

Re: Paddling into your thirties
Do you like paddling? Do you want to put time and effort into increasing your fitness and rebuilding your paddling? If yes, then the barriers you describe will soon come down. Is it possible/feasible? Of course. I could describe my motivation, but that comes from within, is my motivation and from as...

Hahaha! B&S You're past it mate, hang up them paddles. Take up golf, or squash. Then once a year bring out the gear and paddle down the local. Each year your gear will get one year more retro and you'll look like a legend of the extreme. Obvs get yourself to the bar and give the billy big B's ab...

just dangerous to me. That's probably due to Massive Attack dropping bombs on the Doors. Now if you add gorillaz and bluebell woods, paints a whole different level of soft and fluffy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YI2H9jV4Tg Or I guess the difference between looking at grade four comparisons ver...

Re: Are you better at kayaking if you do other adventure sports?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_jPJHZ6yxk The factor of dealing with suppressing anxiety and focusing on path/line and technique is transferable. I've used it many times after recovering from injury to get out on the bike or in the boat to raise the alertness, awareness of the environment and move...

Re: Are you better at kayaking if you do other adventure sports?
The biggest transferable skills for kayakers comes from canoeing, but kayakers get the hump when you suggest it! That, and those who are good kayakers are good because they dedicate time and effort to it, they'll also do the same in other activities and the get through the initial learning curves. T...

Just mess about and do what you like with your camera. And do slow mo's for no reason. Never stop filming. Always charge the batteries. Get a Hashtag, and beat it to within an inch of it's existence. Spam the heck out of soc media. Learn the rules on music: a) It's ain't your music, so you gotta giv...
