Tees - Abbey Rapids

All, We had the estate manager for the Abbey Rapids speak to us a few weeks ago (beginning of April) who was informing us that this section is NOT open access from end of March. We were accessing the river by the public footpaths, etc and NOT the steps from the 'car park'. This is the first time I h...

Re: Best way to store a lot of kayak paddles?

An couple of plastic barrels! Just drop them straight in. Racks that you hang paddles from are a pain unless they are stored horizontally. The vertical ones always result in a paddle getting twisted and causing a domino effect of paddles falling on your toes! Yep - that was a problem. I guess it de...

Fingers crossed... i'm feeling a bit fat for my 8.1 and the 8.5 just too big for me!

I hope it is a tad longer too, I paddle a Z-one for coaching and the nomad feels positively short!

New Nomad!

A video of the new nomad just popped up on the Dagger page. As along time fan of the boat I'm a tad excited to try a new one!

Re: RIVER TEES (Neasham to Over Dinsdale)

Paddled this section for the first time last weekend despite living within a few miles! Section is as described above. At relatively low levels, the 3 hour duration is pretty much spot on. River was full of weeds which formed interesting features for the group to wind their way through. Only problem...

Thule Roofbar Parts - Focus Estate MK2 with 'T-rail'

Guys, I have a foot pack and fitting for a Ford Focus MK2 with 'T-rail' mounting. These have just come off my 2007 Focus. They have had regular use but have not just been left of the vehicle. Roof rail as in this image (ignore the roof bars... these are NOT the ones for sale!) http://i.ebayimg.com/0...

Re: Are kayaking helmets fit for purpose?

For my final year Thesis I completed a project to design a helmet for WW Kayaking/Canoeing. The question you have posed is something which I looked at during this work. As part of this exercise I spoke to BSI regarding their test methods for EN1385. My main concerns with the standard were regarding ...

Re: Unusual Boat storage

I made a 'bag' out of tarpaulin for each of my boats and left them in the back garden of one of my old houses. If you are precious about paintwork etc in the house, put them in the tarp before you carry through the house and it will help stop water splashing out of the boat. Remember if storing outs...

Re: New 'Entry Level' Go Pro Hero?

I'm quite interested in one too... like the idea of the stripped back version. I have a Hero 3 black which I use for work which is great... but I don't use half of the options and the wifi just hammers the battery. Only option I would perhaps of liked would be 1080 60fps... other than that a very at...

Re: Who needs a van?

You put stuff under the rack. If you had an estate car you could possibly sleep in it, but you wouldn't have somewhere under where you sleep to put stuff, especially if two people are there. So this system would still be an advantage. Only have to look at how people convert their VW vans. This syst...

Re: Who needs a van?

Yeah... but where do you put all your other stuff! Looks to be a bit of room under the rack. Might be OK in an estate where you can pile evrything on the front seats... Infact... You may aswell just buy an estate!

have owned an FXr for a few weeks and worn about 5 times... so far very impressed. The fit is as good (if not better) than my old Palm Extreme (old style...). The quality of the BA is spot on. The material seem hard wearing and water repellant... not sure how long that will last! Handy little knife ...

All,

My dad has just bought a new Mamba 8.1. His Keyhole deck is too small.

What are you guys using? Any recommendations?

Thanks,

I bought a Nookie Assassin last year after getting an offer on a new one that was too good to refuse. I haven't swum whilst wearing ...

No-one rate the Palm Torrent Suit? I certainly do! I know everyone likes to defend there own kit, but I refuse to move away from Palm because the kit and customer service have always been spot on. I owned the old sidewinder torrent cag and dry strousers (bib style) for about 6/7 years. Cag is still ...
