Re: Croatia Sea Kayak Trip Advice Needed
Spookily , I've only just this weekend returned from a self supported circumnavigation of the Island of Rab. Our group of 8 paddlers from Liverpool Canoe Club hired boats, decks, PFDs and paddles from Sea Kayak Croatia http://www.seakayak.hr . The owner, a very helpful and friendly guy called Jogi, ...

Thanks MikeB and Jersey Kayak. All now looks promising for next year.
If this trip takes off I'll write a trip report so anyone else looking for NFL details can find them more easily.
Cheers,

Sea Kayaking in Newfoundland
I'm looking for somewhere in Newfoundland to hire decent boats and kit. Although this massive coastline has a lot to offer, it seems that there is very little info available (at least on this side of the Atlantic - UK). A number of us would like to organise a 2-week self supported trip but the start...

Re: Lost on conwy
Late last year found 3 trashed boats further down in the estuary and reported them to Holyhead Coastguard. If your paddles have washed out and travelled that far downstream it might be worth giving them a call on 01407 762051

I know we've heard it all before but I've picked up another rumour that they will reinstate the ferry sometime in 2016.

Re: Paddling Costa Brava
The short answer is no, I haven't paddled the Costa Brava in winter but I did paddle the whole length of it in April this year. Check out https://vimeo.com/62808346 for inspiration. A bunch of us from Liverpool Canoe Club hired decent NDUK boats and other gear from Marc Martin of http://www.seakayak...

Re: Tidal Stream Atlases
As Chris points out, Jimski's book "Welsh Sea Kayaking" is an excellent resource but another very useful reference is "Cruising Anglesey and Adjoining Waters" by North West Venturer Yacht Club member, Ralph Morris. His publication has details of tides all around the Anglesey coast and references tid...

Thanks adventureagent. The link you posted for the freestyle canoeing video is interesting and I've seen similar stuff filmed by Justine on her "This is Canoeing" DVD. I only posted the link to the "The Deep Diggity Dig" video since its significantly different to the Haghighi stroke and looks like a...

Re: The Haghighi paddle stroke
Just as the sea paddling world gets used to the Haghighi stroke, it now seems there's a new kid on the block - " The Deep Diggity Dig" Looks like a bit of a high brace / power face turn as compared with the Haghighi which is a low brace / back face turn. Nice one Leon - where will you take us next? ...

Re: Pyranha Court Case
Indeed there were clear failings found and Pyranha will pay the price for these. I understand they are likely to be heavily fined when their conviction is due in the near future. The local news reported recently that, while this fine is intended to be a punishment, it is not intended to be so heavy ...

Last Days for Liverpool Coastguard
Many sea kayakers may not know that Liverpool Coastguard will close down completely on Friday 16th Jan 2015 and their well known building at Crosby is currently undergoing demolition. Since 2011 Liverpool Coastguard, along with many other stations around the country, has been threatened with closure...
