Re: Clubs and their Bank Account !

Yes, NatWest allows ‘readonly’ Online banking access whilst still requiring multiple signatures on cheques.

More than one person can be granted online banking access too. Their mobile app also can be used.

Re: Everyone who plays outdoors should watch!

Very informative, but here's a few clarifications... All modern mobile phones recognise 999 as an emergency call and will intiate an emergency call in exactly the same way as dialling 112 so don't get too obsessed with dialling 112 over 999. In fact, the call doesn't reach the network as '112' or '9...

Re: Wire cutters

I'd recommend the top ones 'wirecut' http://www.windplus.co.uk/supplies/wire_cutters.html The compound lever design will give you extra leverage compared to others of the same size. The wider opening will also make it easier to get around the wire. BTW The description for one of the above recommenda...

Time to renew my annual travel insurance. Has anyone had experience of https://www.sportscoverdirect.com/sports-travel-insurance/kayaking-insurance-grade-4-5/quote ? They classify Kayaking grade 4/5 as level 2 (of 3). If you take out annual insurance, they also seem to cover you for all activities o...

Sounds like you've developed 'grumpy old man syndrome' without realising. It may come as a shock, but there's nothing you can do about it. On behalf of around 50% of the UKRGB members, welcome to the club.

Re: Emergency Phone

You need a SIM in your phone to make an emergency call. If you are out of coverage of your network, the other networks will accept your emergency call. They have done this for a couple of years. The ultimate solution would be a foreign SIM or an international discount roaming SIM that is not UK base...

I too have left Snowcard this month having got around to spotting the 6 words missing in their updated policy that meant they no longer covered your main activity at all times in the UK. Admittedly they changed the policy just over a year ago, but I didn't get around to reading the detailed policy l...

I seem to remember one of my modified H3s reverting to more like it's former self whist spending 2 weeks in the Alps. I suspect it was whilst on the roofrack in the sun rather than on the alpine rivers. Gentle heat is the way forward.

Re: Are dry trousers really a must have?

Though most UK rivers are relatively accessible, it can take hours to sort out a problem like anywhere else in the world. This can happen on any difficulty of water and the scenario of having to stand thigh deep in cold water to keep someones head above the water if they are pinned is made drastica...
