I tried to delete this item, but to no avail, (pm to web admin). Although I am will to accept the bad timing I also believe it is a subject for discussion. Thank you all for your thoughts, personal 'pms' and off the water discussions.

Paddled a demo today, so did some friends - all positive feedback. Seems it could be THE boat to ue on steep rock ditches.

With respect it is those involved that should respond if they feel the need. Now is not the time for discussions. All are safe, so it seems. No more to be said.

Re: Getting out of a boat

Dan I am only questioning that ratchets get you tight but you appear not to be able to release if you are doubled over (as if in a pin). Old type back bands (prior to ratchets) seem much more safe in these situations.

See you on a river.

Getting out of a boat

Cut to the chase. I did an experiment the other day and simulated a vertical pin with various boats. This was as full simulation as could be. I struggled to get out of a boat when the ratchet system was done up to my normal position BUT managed to escape a boat with an old style back band without is...

If you are going with a raft support trip then a playboat style will be ok. If self support then a bigger boat.

Re: Damage to boat

Yes you can fill the hole. I would take a hot knife an dcut a small section from the inside of the cockpit then melt it over the hole. A dealer like wwc.co.uk will be able to sort this for you if you dont want to do it yourself.
