cuts out the wholesalers’ costs and means that your money goes to the fund rather than to cooperate profit . I think you will find that some of this "cooperate profit " was returned to help pay in small part for this new edition just look at the Ads and other contributions. So what comes around som...

Re: Islander Bolero 14 or Perception Carolina 14

What ever you get for the sea I would make sure it has a skeg or rudder to help when you have any wind at all . The perception expression has one and the carolina doesnt. The new Wavesport Hydra may well suit your size and it comes from the same factory as the Perception.

I think it may be a bit small, but definitely worth a try both for fit and also in some lumpy water to see if the handling suits you.

Re: kitting out new sea kayakers

You could also try the P&H Cetus LV which weighs about 22.5 kg for standard construction or the Northshore Atlantic LV or the Valley Sirona 16.1 . I do wear bibs & a Cag most of the time and try not to go in the water. If I am playing at the Falls of Lora I would use a paddlesuit (ie with a neoprene...

Composite sea kayaks especially are getting lighter and lighter. I would definitely pay the extra to get a boat that I can easily carry whether its a river boat or a sea kayak.

Re: Access Motion to BC AGM

If it's of any help in arguing the case in the future Pam the reason I set up my businesses in Scotland was because there is good access to both land and water. Having the option of being anywhere in the UK 16yrs ago it seemed a no brainer to come here, I did look around the whole of the UK. Well ti...

Re: Access Motion to BC AGM

es of course it is. If I have a garden with my house and I want charge folks to come sit in it or walk through it, I can. If you ain't paying, you ain't sitting. That may work in some countries where there is a lot of government owned land but in the UK where the vast majority is privately owned it...

To charge for access to/use of private land is legitimate
mean that you think its legitimate to charge people for walking across the land? or am I misreading this or taking it out of context?

Excellent work . Sad to say there appears to be quite a few of the dam controlled rivers that dont have SEPA Gauges such as the River Awe and the Tummel above the Linn of Tummel. We asked SEPA about this years ago and they said they couldnt see a need because they were Dam controlled so they know ho...

There is the other option which is to do the very easy trolley from east to west loch tarbert which enables you to explore the coast south of Crinan. If the forecast is good this is a really good alternative.

How does the Scorpio HV compare to the Cetus HV? I was set on the Scorpio, but a change of job has made a fibreglass kayak attainable. Sea kayak oban has demo days this Saturday in Stonehaven and on Sunday Largs Marina and they will have a Scorpio HV on the trailer. Unfortunately not a Cetus HV just...

Re: club kayak for smaller people?

If you put the skeg down just a small amount it will assist with the tracking but without having too many other consequences. With river kayaks on open water we often used to attach ...
