Re: Critique my roll?

Paddle's going too deep. Work on the muscle memory. In shallower water get someone to hold the blade and guide it to the rear of the boat and prevent it sinking as you go through your roll. They can also provide an initial push to the bow of the boat away from them to encourage the rotational moveme...

Amazing the similarity of discussion to when they introduced parking charges in 2010 (charging for paddling the river having been dropped in 2008 - from £14): https://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=64141 & background to the current charges: http://www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/fo...

Re: Boat to small? I need another one! :(

Be wary of the suggested paddler weights and volumes. Some (most) are clearly guesses on the part of the manufacturer.

I'd highly recommend just trying as many boats as you can. Beg, borrow, and (maybe) steal. I'm sure something will eventually "click".

Good luck!

Re: Norwegian Air - Kayak Friendly?

Very kayak friendly. Frequently get boats Manchester to Oslo and back with no troubles to date. Thought I'd expand on this now I've more time. We've twice rung customer service to confirm as they don't specifically list kayaks and the conversation has gone something like: "Is it a surfboard?" "No" ...

Re: New rules for driving in France

From my reading, there are signs which will have details of the restrictions below them. It does seem however that each town/region can set it's own restrictions, so the whole thing is a mess.

It would appear there is an app that someones put together, but I've not looked at it.

Information on areas etc here:

The whole thing could be a challenge for lease vehicle drivers as they don't typically have access to the v5c.

Typhoon MS4 L £275

Selling my old drysuit, as I've replaced it. In very good condition. Wrist seals are good as new, neck seal showing signs of wear but still good. It was used/tested this weekend with no problems. Based in Leeds, but I drive around a fair bit. Any questions, please ask. https://lh3.googleusercontent....

Re: Canoe Wales Statement Regarding Accusation of Trespass on the River Dee

This appears to be about an issue with access to land not water i.e. the portage around a section of river, is that correct? No. It quite clearly states an act of trespass across water. It has also become obvious that the public forums, facebook etc are being read by both parties, so probably best ...

It's not serpents tail. It's the section between Groes Lwyd Cottage and Horseshoe weir at Chainbridge.

WTD expired playboat

Looking for an "expired" playboat. S6, Rev, Flair, Project, Vision, anything short and flat etc etc. Fittings aren't required, basically I want the lower hull for a project.

Beer money, or charity donation prefered.

I've got the Kokatat (Idol?). Found some company with a single example keen to get shot, so it was a steal. Having initially had a few doubts about the waist zip and pronouncing it a bit of a gimmick, I'm now a little more convinced, but still not sold on it being the next big thing. The lack of a co...

While zet outfitting isn't to everyone's taste (thigh braces particularly), I'm surprised to hear you're having so much trouble. I'm 6'3", size 10 feet and wear canyoneers and manage ok for reference. Assuming it's brand new, maybe return it under distance selling regulations and try a few more boats?

Hi. Very interested. How old is the boat? The outfitting all looks undamaged in the photos - is that correct? The hip pads appear to have some extra strapping - why is that - or am I wrong?
