Stolen: Nova Craft Prospector 16

My nova craft prospector 16 was stolen from my work place sometime between Easter weekend and may 3rd. It was taken from Bewerley Park Outdoor Centre in Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire. Its green, drilled and laced along its length, has bow and stern airbags held in place with webbing and karrimat. ...

Re: The access debate on the BBC news website

It contains all the relevant arguments but being presented as a great conflict does not help.

I read the headline ' canoeing in Bahgdad' on the beeb website and was hoping for something more exciting!

FS: Werner Powerhouse, carbon £100, great cond.

Due to a now fused right wrist I need to move to Cranks so I am selling my Powerhouses. Here's the detail: Werner Powerhouse Carbon Blade 197cm Straight, normal diameter, glass shaft They are used but in very good condition. A few normal scratches but no damage. They have 5 inch white 'Teva Hand' st...

Loved the write up. That little station at corrour is a gift. There are so many little adventures to be had from there by boat, bike and foot. I love the feeling of instant remoteness you get as the train buggers off!

Re: "That's my boat!"

Ran the Blean Y Glyn gorge above Tal Y Bont resevoir in a borrowed CFS. The guy who owned the CFS didn't know! All went well until the get out when I crawled out of the boat and turned around to see it soloing off down river. My initial thoughts were that it would happily snag on the stock fence und...

Saws - where do you carry yours?

This discussion has surfaced at work after I ran a staff workshop/update on dealing with pins (mainly thinking open boat but applies to kayak too). We have decided it would be best practice to have a folding saw at hand when leading groups on rivers. Subsequently our staff who don't carry one as sta...

Whilst on the banks of the Katun in the Altai Republic, I remarked to my very good friend Rich Lineham that this was shaping up to be a good expedition. He barely looked up from his bowl of noodles to reply "No one goes on expeditions anymore. We are just having a hard time on holiday" I am inclined...

Hi, Really liked the Scotland vid. Can I ask what editing software you used? Second question, what happened tot he music on the Val Sesia vid? It sounds like it was recorded directly from a speaker. Good choice of track I think but maybe the rendering process just squashed the hell out of the soundt...

Re: Canoe England on Facebook

Can anyone verify that this is true... Please remember that the BCU gets £20 million a year from central government and only £1 million from membership fees, and now employs over 110 full time paid staff. Many of use may still be under the mistaken view that the BCU is a members organisation existin...

Access agreements are based on the misunderstanding that the relevant sections ...

I'm going to demo one on Sunday. Anyone already paddling one? any thoughts or tips for getting/learning the most from a demo? I have read that the seat positioning in a Raptor can have a more siginificant effect than most boats.

Re: Do you know the Volume of a Dropzone?

I agree, for some reason the Dropzone's volume isn't out there in the public domain... But I've got one, and for what it's worth I'd guesstimate the volume as being between that of a Burn M and the bigger Nomad - so around the 285-290L mark? Hmmm. Pehaps not big enough then.
