Re: Any 2 day aquatic first aid courses running?

Thanks, Paul.
That would have been ideal, but unfortunately, I'm committed to tutoring a Level 1 course that weekend. Sods' law.

Circumstances beyond organisers' control! People with more clout than us are in charge of the running race.

Still, maybe some runners will be converted to a proper sport. Who knows.

Re: Olympic sprint racing.

The leg movement isn't excessive, CJ, it's effecient. Paddlers with good technique in any kayak discipline would be using an effecient power transfer. It's most visible, and most efficent, in open cockpit kayaks because of the seating position with legs together rather than splayed. Have a look at t...

If you put your e-mail address, put [at] instead of @ and it shouldn't be picked up e.g. squirtboater[at]deathtrap.co.uk rather than squirtboater@deathtrap.com

Race Coach module course

I'm running a race coach module course at Bristol this Saturday, June 2nd. Suitable for Level 1 & 2 coaches, or anyone aiming to become a Level 1 coach. I'd be grateful if people could mention it to any coaches who might be interested. Full details from karen.bagshaw@canoe-england.org.uk
Thanks.

WANTED: Marathon K1

I'm looking for a stability 2 or 3 K1 for marathon racing - my beloved old boat has suffered a terminal injury and has been consigned to that great boatyard in the sky. I can't afford much, I'm afraid, but if anyone knows of anything for sale around the £200 mark, I'd love to hear from you. And whil...

Ross Warland Memorial Canla Challenge next Sunday

Anyone thinking of doing the DW might like to have a pop at this one. 20 miles on the Oxford Canal. Out & back course, plenty of portages. can be done all through or as a relay. Good food & good company afterwards. 120 paddlers entered so far. Full details on the BAnbury website www.banburycanoeclub...

Classic scam.

Would be quite fun to play along with it for a while and see how far you can take them before they give up.
See http://www.419eater.com/ for a masterclass in how to wind them up.

Re: Have yiu bought stuff from philsmith1993?

He was careless enough to give me an address, P.R., which is, as you say, near Tamworth. I've now reported him on "Action Fraud" www.actionfraud.org.uk. LucyLou - I'd urge you to do the same.
I guess I ought not publish his address here, but it's tempting.

There's a race calendar on the WWR website. Tells you where and when all the events are.

I bet any anglers reading this thread are loving it as paddlers try to tear each others' throats out.

The Under 10 Hody & Under 12 lightning races at the Banbury Marathon will be at 12:15pm, not 1:30pm as advertised.

Also - remember that the clocks go back an hour this weekend.

Or is it paddlers that should have a wobble factor? Judging by my efforts in the first 400 yards of the Hasler final, I'd be a 9. At best.

Certainly was boily and choppy as Nick said. However, I usually hate Henley because its so boring (there are other reasons too, which i won't go into), but IMHO all the wind and chop made it interesting, challenging and fun.
