Re: Paddlefest- Feedback Please!

From what I saw of it they pulled of one hell of an massive event between them and the NSR. To be fair they cannot easilly get a date where it is likely to be much warmer due to after this point the centre start charging significantly more to hire the course. Hence the NSR always happens when it doe...

Re: New 5star Pre-requisites?????????????

Put it this way the BCU wouldn't let a trainiee raft guide progress straight to the new 4 star assessment let alone the 5 star training even with having a well in date WWS+R in addition to the old level 2 coach training and old 4 star training and a bit of experience on rivers in different areas of ...

Re: Careers In Engineering?

First priorities are get the right GCSE's English Language at C or above Minimum double science at really B or above but seriously consider triple science(studied individually). Triple science does a few things if you have a weak science then it should put a bit of safety net up to protect the other...

Most of this confusion in my opinion can be contributed to the very subjective and personal opinions on grading sections of water. This has always existed even during the old scheme. When I did my 4 star training on a section of river that we looked at and then paddled we all originally graded it as...

There is one exception to the rule that I am aware of and that is raft guides. However that is a completely different kettle of fish again. Try here http://www.leisureshack.co.uk/ The aero bars are quite nice as well they stay cool in general, got rubber bits on top and are also quiet. Much more competetive price than somewhere like halfords. Service wasn't to bad either, delivery about £6 and that is next day delivery most of the time,...

For the slalom there is always the Tryweryn. You could book the topsite out exclusively but it might be a bit small. Alternatively you could always possibly try for between the usual getout for the centre and above chapel falls or make arrangements with the campsite and use down to about the campsit...

Canoe England please take the hint from the WCA.

Now that the WCA has removed "service and facility" fees for the use of there centre i.e. CT. A few questions should the BCU or Canoe England enforce a removal of fees for people canoeing and kayaking on HPP which is part of the river trent and also for the Washburn up in Yorkshire. Surely CT and th...

For a BCU member it's only £7 for access to both the centre section and the lower, this price has not risen much if at all in the last few years, please compare this to HPP.
