Allt Mheuran

Hi Was paddling in the Etive valley today, the second drop on the Allt Mheuran has changed considerably. A series of boulders have been washed downstream to the bottom of the second distinct rapid (the long slide drop that chicanes left, right, left along the wall), which at any flow you want to do ...

Not posted in here in a while, but this caught my eye. If it is where I think it is, I've been looking for that river for a long time. Is it one of the Blackwaters in the north of Scotland?

One of the folks at my polo is off out there just now (jammie git...) He's back on Monday/Tuesday, I'll send him a text and ask him what it was like, then get back to you Dug. Oh, and I still need to sort out what's happening about summer, whether or not we're out to Aus, and whether Dylans tagging ...

Wtd: Sm Big dog Force, Burn or DR Mafia etc

Hi all

Looking for a small Burn, small big dog force, or other such boat for Alpine paddling in the summer.

Although if anyone has a DragoRossi Mafia I can have a shot in first, let me know, would be quite interested in that.

Cheers

Gav =)

Re: First Aid provider for course in St. Andrews April 2010

Hi Kizzie We used a guy called George Fell over at Heriot Watt last year or the year before, very good course, paddle specified, and cheap (aimed towards students)! PM me an email address, and I'll forward the email he sent to the club quite recently. Well, my old club. It's not my club anymore, lef...

Re: Werner Rios - Are they any good?

Think I'm going to go against the grain here, and say I like the Rio's. I think it's because I've gotten used to them, so like the way they move in the water. The Carlisle tech ones are also a good shout, although swapping between the two I noticed a difference, the Carlisle seem to have a bit less ...

Re: Camera for Kayaking

Dug Have a look at my camera, it's the Fujifilm WP Z33. It takes decent shots, and is waterproof. It's the one I had on the Kinglass - you saw me roll there a few times - it stayed in my BA pocket the whole time. If I ever get round to sending those big quality pics to Ryan on CD, take a look. It's ...

Glad you're joining us Notters, although when I last spoke to Dug he said you weren't... Oh well. Looks like a fair whack of us heading over now. Lets hope there's water, and we'll have to watch for the tree. (and rocks..)

Hi I was there last Sunday, larking about with a friend trying to tow on to the 'wave' on the chute left of the main (what I've always taken as the main line anyway) chute. Was paying close attention, looking out for the spikes, mainly because of this thread, but didn't see anything, and it was pret...

Re: Anyone ever done a Source to Sea in Scotland?

Last summer me and a friend ran from Kinlochrannoch down the Tummel hydro system, into the Tay and down to Stanley, which took us a half day paddle then camp, then a full day 9am til 7/8 at night. 58 Km in a day, good scenery and decent paddling, pretty enjoyable. This year I had aspirations of taki...

When it's not got any air bags thats just asking for trouble. *Cough.. But airbags would have helped ;-) Chase boating for me, if I've lost s...

Could possibly make an appearance, I've always wanted to go to Wales... Although I'd have to balance it around a trip we've got planned, Kinlochleven to Perth... Sounds like a great event though, and a great chance for 5 paddlers! :-)

http://www.reuk.co.uk/La-Rance-Tidal-Power-Plant.htm 40 years old and still going strong. Average yearly output of 68 MW. Energy costs now of (slightly less than) 0.02 euros per kWh. Re: Who was on the Orchy on Good Friday?

Hey Ryan (N)... There's a rock there... I remember chase boating with Dug, down the upper Roy in flood, after a C1 Diesel, around about new years 2008. Mucho fun, back when I was paddling properly! Glad to have at least ran the Leny on a 'high' now, cheers for the paddle James/Iain! RyanP, was that ...
