Lost - throw bag - River Garry

HF Weasel throw bag (black and yellow) lost on the Garry yesterday (17/09/2015). It has my name on it. Lost it pulling out another group's boat!

It will be either at or downstream of the main takeout by the bridge / car park.

Let me know if it shows up.

Thanks.

Valley Prodigy with deck £120

I have for sale a Valley Prodigy squirt boat. The boat is 100% watertight and in surprisingly good condition for its age. There is some messy looking fibre glass work on both ends which could do with tidying up, but no holes, cracks or serious dings. The boat is pink and glittery with "splish" and "...

Re: "best" 18 to 20m throwbag out there?

I really rate the NRS standard rescue bag. It has a really wide neck for packing, and unlike many of the other popular bags, there is more than enough space in the bag for the rope, so you're not cramming In the last 2m and it's easy to close. It's 25m of thick grippy rope, which I usually can't thr...

Re: Paddling without a PFD... Why?

Morsey, The seat belt analogy is more about the decision making process than the end result. I have never crashed my car, but I still belt up every time. I have been lucky enough to never have a serious incident on the river, but I still wear appropriate safety equipment every time. I'm not entirely...

Paddling without a PFD... Why?

I fear this may spark some debate, however it is an issue I have noticed more and more over the past few years, and, although I do not wish to start an argument, I do feel this is something that needs to be discussed. This afternoon I had a conversation in the car park at Newark weir with two young ...

Re: Spray deck problems

Thanks for all of the advice, sorry I've only just got round to replying, it's been a busy summer!

The boat is a valley prodigy.

Apparently peak no longer make squirt decks. But I'm waiting to hear back from Phoenix.

Thanks again

Re: Norway Logisitics

It depends on where you are in the uk, but I take the ferry from harwich to esjberg. It's about the same price as Newcastle to Amsterdam, but makes it only 3.5 hours drive to hirtshals instead of 10. And there are no tolls either. I can't offer any advice for where to get the hirtshals ferry to, as ...

Spray deck problems

The water is just about warming up here in Norway, so I've cracked out the squirt boat for a couple of after work sessions. The problem I'm having is that after 3 or 4 minutes on the water, I'm having to get out and empty my boat. The boat is definitely water tight, and the deck I have is near enoug...

Re: VW T5 roofrack

Hi mark, I drive a t4, and faced the same decision as you. It entirely depends on how much driving you will be doing with and without boats on the roof. If you will have boats on the roof most of the time, I would go for a slightly more industrial roof rack, like the ones you see on builders and win...

Epoxy resin

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever been as stupid as me, and mixed epoxy resin in the wrong quantities? (2 part A, and 1 part B, instead of the other way round) and not realised until after they have applied it. Obviously this isn't going to produce optimal quality, but does anyone know what the ...

Boat outfitting

I have a few questions about outfitting a squirt boat. I have a valley prodigy with absolutely no outfitting at all, so a blank canvas to play with. I am planning on using 3" minicell foam. I've found loads of the advice on kayakoutfititng.com really useful, but I have a couple of questions. First o...

Does anyone know if Trent lock or sawley weir will be running over the weekend? And if not, what levels do they run at, and which ea gauges are used for these spots? Hi,

Is the deck still for sale? I'm looking for a riot size deck to fit my new squirt boat. Where abouts are you located? I will be driving from Edinburgh to South Wales on Monday, so there's a good chance ill be passing near you.

Thanks,

If I sold them for any less, it would not be worth the effort. Plenty of people seem to be watching and biding on the items.

So this is probably in the stupidly expensive range, but Immingham-Brevik saves a lot of driving. http://freight.dfdsseaways.com/ferry_terminals/dfds_terminals/brevik/ Or you could fly here and use my lousy car and boats, rack included, if you got a car and sea kayak for me to use in the UK.
