Re: Paddling into your thirties

Hi - I can relate to this (although have had trouble accepting it for the past couple of years), Ha. For me it's when the 'big trips' stopped, paddling on average twice per week at home, plus every day of a three week trip on consistently hard whitewater, every year, was a massive boost to confidenc...

Bio/Autobiographical Publications

Hi folks Looking for a new read - I find it hard to keep engaged from start to finish usually. However, really enjoyed 'Tall Story's' and 'Living the Best Day Ever' so I'm after any recommendations for a new read of a similar nature. Anything gripped anyone recently (or not so recently) that I can h...

Re: Zet Director/Liquid Logic Stomper 90 tooo much boat???

Hey Joel - Both great creek boats; the Director being the more responsive out of the two. It's definitely worth demoing them regardless. It purely depends on what "UK paddling" you are planning on doing. To be honest you'd have loads of fun in a 'river boat' unless you're not planning on running the...

Re: Low Force Rock

A friend paddled this at the weekend and ran numerous laps on it the weekend before. He ran center tracking right - seemed to go ok. Somethings' definitely changed and certainly doesn't look as nice though. Would be interesting to see it with no water in it; although i'd imagine I'd never paddle it ...

Re: Coiltie - a new dam

Hi Bid

I have it on as part of a river compilation video. The Coiltie footage starts at about 04:04 - I have set the password to 'bid' hope this helps Bid!

Let me know if I can be of any assistance with anything.

Best Wishes

Re: Coiltie - a new dam

Paddled the river and I believe (at least half) the small gorge at the top (unless there's way more upstream) I did this with 3 others on the 29th December 2013 at about a medium level. a cracking section of whitewater in amongst some epic scenery.

Good luck

Boats and Bro's - Kayak Session Short Film Awards Entry

Hi Folks I have put some footage together from a weeks worth of whitewater in March; when my German friends came to visit. I have entered this into the Kayak Session Short Film Awards 2014. It's no bomb flow but I had fun making it and even more fun experiencing it! Give it a watch and see what you ...

Re: Pura Vida!

Yeah Reventazon was pretty full-on, we got in quite high up just below the Peralta Dries section. As Tim says its a very different ball game when you can't see waves for holes. Heavy rain and dam release apparently. Such a good kayak destination! Thanks again for the reports, genuinely proved useful...

Good interview, I found this quite interesting: "While I think as a beginning kayak instructor you do need that, I also think that some of our approaches to teaching have been band-aids for bigger problems. In this paradigm, I found myself going back on things I had said in beginner lessons when I h...

SMAX Bags

Hi all Just thought I'd spread the, word about a really cool new luggage/drybag company making their products out of recycled billboards. Re: It's downright Plain Lazy!

Image - kayaker/Paddler hands behind head (lazy) feet up possibly? upstream of a drop/river.

Slogan - "on the right side of gravity" or "on the lazy side of gravity"

I like this idea :-)

Bombflow are posting quality videos that you could reasonably expect to pay good hard earned for and perhaps have in the past. Nothing to do with Bombflow. Bombflow are a good example of how subtle advertisement for the people who sponsor/endorse them. My point is that in the video quoted in OP (wh...

I have recently came accross this video http://www.bombflow.com/archives/xv-crosstrek-feather-festival-2012 It shows a talented paddler advertising a kayaking festival through this edit. So I - having paddled on a section of this particular river took an interest in this, only to see the inside of a...
