Re: Wanted XL Marathon Boat

Well, yes it is a K1 used from a member of the German National Team. So its probably one of the fastest boats for marathon and you should test something similar before buying it. The newest ICF K1s are more wobbly - where did you find this boat being compared in the internet? I am selling mainly bec...

Re: Tidal Stream Atlases

Coming from Germany I have a question:
In the UK-Atlases I see numbers, like "01,02" or "03,08" attached next to the arrows, which I do not understand.
Can someone explain these to me?
You also see them in:

I am sure many of you noticed the difference between the two types of paddles when you start with http://www.lendal.com/ Both seem to have differences an similarities in their making. similar: padlock, some of the shaping (blades) differences: US seem to be all 4 piece paddles. They usually seem to ...

Re: Take a walk on the mild side - stacks on neaps.

Hi Eurion, Hi Steve, thanks a lot for your help with info on the tidal streams. I already bought "Welsh Sea Kayaking" and I have a subset of R.Morris "Cruising Anglesey & adjoining waters". So you can call me lazy not finding out myself how to get around the stacks on neaps...... I simply would like...

Re: Take a walk on the mild side - stacks on neaps.

This sounds like a wonderful easygoing tour (if weather is okay). Chris, I am very interested in your timing to avoid strong currents: - At what time did you start at Treaddur Bay? - and when did you continue at Porth Dafarch? - approx. passage of the stacks? - arrival time at Soldiers Point? You me...

Re: Kari-Tek Skeg Rudder System: your experience?

Hi Douglas, thanks a lot for your very comprehensive posting! Nigel offers the Skeg Rudder as an option for the Triton. I think simply because the NDK skeg does not have enouth area to stop leecocking in stronger winds. Do you know how big the area of the Skeg Rudder is compared to the "normal" NDK ...

Kari-Tek Skeg Rudder System: your experience?^

Hi, the skeg-rudder system is already a couple of years on the market. After finding only some postings thru the boardsearch I would like to start a new topic ONLY on experiences with this system. I am very interested in the stability of the system. Please no pre /con about skegs or rudders. There a...

My Tiderace seems to have a very brittle gel coat. I find the Gelcoat near the bow to be relatively fragile ...just a function of the material being so hard and having relatively sharp edge making chips pretty much inevitable. That was your experience too Tom? Steve Well I do not have a Tiderace, b...
