I haven't tried a z.one but I thought the axiom was a fantastic boat. Really good fun on a wave and fast as lightning down a river - what's not to like?

Re: The Dream Result premiere in London.

Or Manchester, less central but they have lots of potential venues, and a great night out can be had after the premier... Unlike London then. I mean I've only been the once but as I recall London was a pretty tiny place that seemed to totally shut down come about 9.00pm...... Giles :-) Well, everyt...

Re: The Dream Result premiere in London.

Dart Centre would be too far south; Realisticly London or Birmingham are the most sensible venues because they are easily accessible from just about anywhere even by public transport. My vote would be for Birmingham, it's pretty central and close enough to Wales to be combined with a day paddling O...

Re: Matt from Blue Peter presents the Access problem

The guy fishing who said only anglers knew what was going on underwater was so full of himself and what does he do to add to the environment except leave his hooks and traces in bushes. The landowner is a definite "nimby" character who had a permanent scowl and an arrogant air about him. Nice peopl...

The Ogwen is probably running and is my favorite river in wales, the eden rarely runs from what I've been told, the Mawdach requires a fair bit of rain to be good

I had a paddle in an axiom on the tryweryn today and have to say they are fantastic boats which i would definitely recommend. Brookbank has one available for demo: always, always try before you buy.

How exactly does this differ from striding which has been around for quite some time now? This said that board does look mighty pretty with its shiny gloss finish. Like these? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stand_up_paddle_surfing http://www.paddlesurf.net/ Looks pretty similar to me... I do like it ...

The low brace is safer than the high brace, less chance of dislocating a shoulder. Also, if your low brace fails you can go into a high brace. And yes, I use low braces all the time.

If this “accessory” isn’t enough to tip you off that this kayak exists only in our dreams than we don’t know what will. Although we eat, drink and sleep whitewater our focus is on making kayaking videos, not kayaks.

What Have I just bought?

I've wanted a topo spud for ages and today I noticed something similar going cheap on ebay. I'm just wandering whether it is a topolino spud or not, it was advertised as a 'euro spud' (something which i've never heard of). It also looks a bit like a boat I saw the other day which the owner described...

Good to see that the weir is runnable! I went further than the clubsite for the first time on sunday and decided to walk it due to the friendly wooden stakes. Though I'm sure the stakes would sooner break than that tank!

Re: rolling

Ok your roll works in easy water. One tip I have is start your rolling practise in increasingly harder water. Maybe rolling on easy eddy lines moving onto harder and harder water then moving onto harder moving water. After a while your rolling in pushier water. I'll second that, you have to practic...

Re: Are dry trousers really a must have?

I like my shorts, went on my first Scotland trip in November wearing neoprene shorts, 2 rashies and a good cag. I had one swim which was no problem and a few rolls. In all honesty I was never too cold at all; I had good hand movement due to my poggies and did not dread inspecting rapids or standing ...

Apparently there's a trade of between how sharp a knife is, how long it stays sharp and it's rust resistance. Unfortunately, for the first two to be good, it is at the cost of the third. And the cheaper the knife the poorer it seems to be in all three areas - you get what you pay for! Ignoring the ...
