Fallen Oak Tree in River Kent near Sedgwick

A large Oak Tree has fallen into the river Kent from River Right spanning 2/3 of the river width. Location is just after weir found inbetween Gunpowder Gorge and Sedgwick Road Bridge. Aware that advise is to portage the weir from the foot bridge above the weir and I would suggest this as a good call...

Re: Decks for a riot?

Hi Depends on which model riot boat you have, as the older riot boats take the peak riot deck, some of the newer riot boats and river running boats are Peak Uk keyhole size. Best advice to measure length and width of your cockpit then call the peaks shop in Nottingham and they will tell you which de...

Re: My writeup of the Lee Valley Olympic course assesment

Hi Harry Great report, very useful for other paddle wishing to attend an assessment. Glad you enjoyed your visit. -It's a small thing, but the signalling the guy running the assessment used was strange. The symbol to go, was hand out flat in the air (I'm pretty sure that if you ask most paddlers AND...

Re: Advice for novice family paddlers

Not if you buy Gumotex you won't - there's little/no difference between the quality and build of their commercial rafts and their kayaks/canoes believe it or not. No doubt you can always find a cheap raft to match a cheap kayak, Gumtoex do make some excellent rafts and have a range of kayaks to mat...

Hi Have you ever thought about buying a small rafts, which could hold 4 people, idela family boat, safe and easy to store, not far of the same cost as buying 2 inflatable canoes. Re: Anyone know were I can get gortex?

Hi

You cannot buy Gore fabrics of the roll as garmets made from gore fabrics are only made in approved gore factories. Like everyone has said try other fabrics of similar spec or construction, Taiwan make some of the better fabrics to my knowledge.

Good luck. hoopla
