Does anyone know if 5:10 are still making canyoneers and if so where I can get a set from? They seem to be like hens teeth these days.

After backband, doesn't have to be in spectacular condition, if you got an old broken boat that has abckband in it let me know what it is and maybe we can talk cash.

Re: Pyranha 9R '2' - what's the difference?
Regular readers of this forum will know (and not care) about my apathy towards new boat styles. I'm not especially aiming at Pyranha but they seem a good one to start with. What's so much better about 'version 2' of the 9R over 'version 1'. I didn't particularly notice Bren et al paddling rubbish i...

I went for an orange boat in the end, it rolls and boofs and hasnt broken when i hit a rock so i would say it is about up to standard with my old eurokayaks cypher which can never be a bad thing.

Re: Loch Lochy HYDRO
Last time I checked that drop was about 7 foot deep after swimming around in the pool for a while dropping a throw bad full of stones in till it hit the bottom, 2 meters maximum. To be fair and play the devils advocate, if you are going to build a hydro scheme then it is a pretty good place to do so...

Re: New Dagger Playboat?
The thing is this-it is all very good putting up pictures of a nice red boat and a video of a green one, but until you have seen how ALL of the colors will paddle it is a very naive thing to do to order one and assume it will paddle the same(unless it is the same color as the one you have seen perfo...

Re: River Earn - Comrie to Crieff
On the Earn there are a fair few weirs and strainers-none spring to mind between comrie and crieff (although there is an evil staircase of weirs at the top of comrie) and a small rapid just at the bottom of the park in comrie-presumably where they would put on. It would be worth having a quick walk ...

Re: Raft guide qualis
You should get an easy start Tay-side, however, you will lose the will to live due to having to raft the most embarrassingly shit rivers available (anywhere in the world even?)... try Aviemore and f.bill based places and you will get to raft good river like the Garry and Findhorn and get to pack in ...

Go IRF. BCU and SRA (despite the latter being IRF affiliated) are not very internationally recognised. Get your SRT as well as you will need this along with a first aid ticket. Muzza at Splash does IRF training, I think he will make you work for crap all money to progress with your ticket- but that ...

Check out going from the top of Loch Garry(starting just below the dam out of loch Quoich) down to Fort William-I have done the Kingy up there walking into it from Loch Arkaig side (not recommended) and the length of the loch afterwards. You will find awesome rapids right in the middle of the Loch, ...

Re: Top Ten Tick List
Just classic, inspiring runs that are within the reach of an average 4+ish UK boater. Would I be correct in thinking that you are "an average 4+ish UK boater"? I would guess that the average UK boater paddles easier than 4+ish, and you've (probably inadvertently I'll give you) ruled out a significa...
