Re: Inverness area paddlers

anyone for the coming week?
For the ref that's what I can do with my OC1:

I am not entirely gormless, is what I mean. I do appreciate I don't set the heather on fire either.

Inverness area paddlers

Hi folks, I have paddled a bit back in 2012 in inverness and before that in the Glasgow area. Now keen to get back into it since kids are a bit older. I paddle an OC1 and would quickly get back to being comfortable at G3+. I used to paddle with kayaks most of the time. Lost contacts, or they moved a...

Re: Any paddlers from Inverness Canoe Club?

Hi Dave,
Will be based in your nick of the woods on the Black Isle. Don't do kayak, don't do sea either. So somewhat limited. I like the bouncy stuff inland. I'll pm you details a bit later. Now in the midst of moving mayhem.
Cheers

Re: Any paddlers from Inverness Canoe Club?

bumping the post.

I'm moving permanently into the area from mid august. Paddle OC1 up to IV (max at the moment though)
Tried their internet link but it does not work.

Somoene said they were into sea paddling, but youtube suggests some cool whitewater action.

Re: Whitewater solo canoe

I'm no longer selling my boat sorry, sorted finances and it's too much fun to get rid of. Wouldn't be surprised 2nd hand boats become more available with all the new designs that seem to pop up these days? Surely someone will want to treat themselves to new toys? Good luck with the chase if you have...

Re: No boating for me!

I was just checking that you'd still have some form of kneeling watercraft, it might be long, fragile and decked but it's still better than nought. Only ever kneeling for me, whatever happens. My back will never allow it, even if my heart was showing signs of wavering which is not the case anyway! ...

Re: No boating for me!

Ta all, Have no intention on selling kit until I'm really in the gutters! Did hope to hook up, at some distant point, with some generous folks who would loan me a craft. Yes Josh, still got boat with skirt. Also improved strap system. You can have it for a pint if you pick it up (might even offer yo...

No boating for me!

Being a poor (financially) father at home, I don't get to go very much. Please feel sorry for me.

Pyrahna prelude

In a bid to generate some cash, I am sadly selling my beloved canoe. It is well used but as plenty life left in it. I'm selling with its airbags and some foam (rectangle 108x35x7.5 cm) so that you can readjust outfitting to suit your size. £400 ono. Will add pics tomorrow. I'm based in Glasgow and m...

Re: C1 High Kneeling Racers

I have seen Polish champions (national level) do it on the clyde...where you don't want to fall in. In C1 and C2!!!! It looks diabolically unreasonable, to the extent that I passed the offer to try. Them boys are fellow lifeguard volunteers. One is now back home, and the other I've not seen in about...

Re: Paddling and working in the Alps this summer

Do you speak French? That would make life easy. Application for summer jobs is now...could even be on the late side. Same old problem though, people hiring you would want you there all the time. It's their bread and butter the summer! It's rare to get a pat-time job (well, unheard of in my valley!) ...

Come on guys! Surely someone out there is gagging to get on the water! I often paddle solo but I won't do those solo because it would be plain stupid.... I make no claims at being an awesome paddler, but I'm safe and reliable...and a master at self-rescue(see above for reason). Also a climber with g...

I'm on holidays and want to paddle some of the classics at III/IV. Can't only do a day or a 2 days at a time but I don't mind driving to hook-up with folks. There's a release on the Garry on the 14th. Keen to get on the Orchy or the Etive too. Should have a few days the week after to. PM me on here....
