Kari Tek Easy Load Roof Rack system

I am selling a used Kari Tek Easy Load Roof Rack system suitable for a rack roof width of approximately 130cm that can carry up to 3 kayaks or 1 canoe ( with appropriate cradles). Allegedly only suitable for a vehicle up to 1.6m high, however I had it on a T4 transporter for a few years. It's mostly...

Re: Pyrenees, July 2015 - 3 weeks, 3 different courses.

For anyone considering one of our Pyrenees weeks I've put together a short film on vimeo to give a flavour of the venue and the courses on offer.

We put the same professionalism into our courses. No less.

There are still some spaces left on this course if anyone is looking to combine some summer white water fun in the sun with picking up some recognised and certified training.

Re: Knife Rope or Nothing

I once felt very hungry and only had a lump of cheese and my oatcakes. I had left my buoyancy aid by my boat and I was to weak to crawl to it. I had my rope by my side but it was useless. I had to resort to biting the cheese and nibbling the oatcakes, it was so uncultured. I've been covered in shame...

Re: UK Paddlesport Show - Have your say

Manchester is a 4 hour drive (each way) from me. February is a month where it is usually too cold and dry to paddle on any decent ww rivers (where I am) without leaving half your plastic on the riverbed. If you're planning a Paddlesport show in Manchester then well done for picking somewhere relativ...

Re: Scotland and the drive up, conditions please

Theres been no significant fresh snow for a couple of days, most roads I've seen appear to be clear. So the drive should be fine. However, temperatures are sub zero for most of each day / night. Mild thaws in the daytime, but no precipitation. Boating variety is between limited and non-existent. Bri...

Re: Throwlines

I'd recommend a 20m line if you're only going to have one. (More space for hanging your washing.) Get a thick line ; 10.5 or 11mm. Treat others as you'd like to be treated. And if you can, get one of the bags with the wee handles on them like the HF or the Nookie ones; because they're the daddies wh...

Re: Fun Runner vs Zen

The Zen has more volume in the tail than the Fun Runner. Maybe even slightly more in the front.

I think the Fun Runner and the Axiom are probably more comparable as designs.

True, and don't forget the Nogueara Pallaresa which by virtue of being dam controlled offers boating right through the summer. A great fall back option.

Re: I4 vs Loki

I'm going to come out the closet and stick up for the I4, you lot must be barking mad. The I3 was a great boat, and the I4 was too; the tweaks between those two boats were negligible. I still have and still do paddle my I4 (M). Its amazing for fun down river moves like tailies and wave wheels, but g...

Re: Roll both sides?

There is no question in my mind that rolling on both sides is an essential skill. A variety of rolls, including back deck rolls, that can get you out of a sneaky spot of bother quickly with little or no set-up time are definitely something worth practising. You can't guarantee which side is downstre...
