Re: dose anyone know of shops offering finance?

Last time I looked, the best deal was withTesco or Sainsbury's banks....both running at 6% ish, my own bank could not beat them......be careful with shop APR s, you may get stung for a big percentage,

Fabulous, this has made me chuckle......well said Badger.....having said that, I am considerably richer than Yao, Americans....amazing, the few left that can actually fit in a kayak are now shooting critters from them..you could use a magnum round to roll your boat if needed, just rely on the recoil,...

Re: Large J bar carrier for a tandem SOT

Karitek do make them, a friend has two sets on his Shogun. I would be inclined to use longer simple uprights, even if you had some made, the Kariteks will set you back over £80 , and the fit of the SOTs on the cradles is not exactly snug....

Re: Valley Etain RM - any thoughts

Just one thought really, never buy a boat without paddling it, and don't rely on other people's assessments, as well intentioned or knowledgable as they may be. OK, two thoughts there. Don't fall into the trap of buying a boat without paddling it in as many types of conditions as you can. I know of ...

Re: A day with Greenland Paddles

I bought a Formby Finger from Mike Bell last week, and used it for the first time doing the Bardsey Sound trip. There were some lumpy conditions on the flood, but the paddles were superb and provided power ans stability beyond that of my usual, now broken Werners. A few years ago I would probably no...

I agree with your comments there Chris.

Just making sure that the PC who deals with it submits an intelligence report. It is an aspect of policing that is overlooked, despite being a PI occasionally

Re: Conwy river access. Anglers-V-Kayakers

I have done this paddle many times with Mike Marshall and my brother Dave, who was one of the parties involved in this incident. The "F#####g" signs that this angler refers to are placed well within the tidal limit, so are meaningless anyway. I suspect the area is fished by the Llanrwst club, not Be...

Re: Towing - yet again!

I must confess that I do not know anything about this one. However, at the end of the day, towing in any shape or form is bloody hard work, having done it in anger twice in the last year. The second was in a swell in Bardsey sound. If anyone has a towline and has never got it wet, then you NEED to d...

Whatever you do, don't put yourself in that kind of danger again. You went out solo in an unknown, and hadn't tested your recovery skills. I think you were lucky to have swum/swam the thing back to land to recover the situation. I've never paddled an Iceflow, but you have changed drastically from th...

I tried the new seat in the GT I prefer the original seat, and if I bought a GT, then I would have the one fitted as per my Alaw. They are interchangeable, and yes, therefore can be retro fitted. You need to spend 4 hours or so in one to make up your mind. There are many who prefer it to the old sty...

You could also Mike Webb's new Rockpool GT, awesome handling with expedition friendly capacity. Gareth Three nights and four days will make this a leisurely trip, enabling you to take in the sights.
