Re: Mega Jester Rio feedback welcome....

Good luck, and boats will come up, and second hand surf boats seem to lose a lot of value in the first couple of years, so its a bit of a buyers market, except when I am buying, or its just my poor negotiation skills.

Re: Mega Jester Rio feedback welcome....

If you are looking for second hand boats, particularly older ones, I am afraid that its patience, and searching in the usual places, but maybe someone else has worked out a better way. Gumtree and E Bay are good for surf boats, but who knows how long it will take. Facebook also has a couple of surf ...

Re: Seized Zip TIZIP. Stuck Zipper

Silicone grease, does a great job of lubricating the zip, but it makes it extremely difficult to repair around that area, if using glue, as nothing will stick to it.

Re: First drysuit....

People will suggest using all sorts of powders and potions on the seal or on your neck, but this has never helped me. I think there are only two effective options to deal with it: 1. Use a physical barrier under the seal so it doesn't touch your skin. I use a silicone tube which my mate uses in his...

Re: Look for recommendations - drybags

We have all got drybags that have small/tiny holes, I periodically spend some time finding them by using a torch, inside the bag, in a dark room, and then repair them with aquasure, This extends their life.

Has anyone had theirs serviced? My Sweet Intergalactic suit needs pressure testing and patching, but I’m struggling to find someone to do the work. Up and Under who sold it to me can’t help and nor will System X who tell me they only do Kokatat; apparently, they lack the technology to service Sweet...

I have just had a laterjet procedure done 2 weeks ago, which is open surgery to stabilise the shoulder, and have been told that i need to keep it imobalised for 4 weeks and then rehab for a further 3 months and then should be able to get back in a boat, to start building up to returning to surfing. ...

Re: Bullitt S vs Ride Eclipse, how do they differ?

I found the Bullet S very easy to roll as is the Banshee, and there is more foot room in the Banshee, so its more comfortable for me, as to the performance, well the Banshee seems to cutback more easily, and as its a longer boat it takes off quite easily a little further out then other boats, my ine...

Re: mega thigh braces - what material?? / fixing

Give Pete a call at Mega,as the cockpit and thigh braces are moulded separately from the rest so they could be either, but I suspect that they will be the same as the rest of the boat as they are quite often colour coded so using the same gel as the rest of the boat.

Re: What's this kayak & repair advice request....

As Adrian says the repair is not that hard, if you are looking for a serviceable job, which might be a little untidy. It does look like you need to reinforce the inside with some glass and resin, I suggest you use epoxy as it will bond with both types of existing resin, the second of which's name es...

Re: Padding - how snug

For me its a balance of being able to transfer intended movement when rolling, and begin comfortable in the boat for long periods. As you are aware most of the rolling movement is from the body and if you cant have contact with the boat or have a long distance to travel before connecting then I feel...

I started paddling at 16 and am still paddling in my late 50's. It was an obsession with me, that has been central to my life, in that my circle of long term friends grew up around kayaking, and it is still very much at the core of who I am and what I do. I had a few years out in my early 30's due t...
