Re: Factory-fitted C1 creekboats

Bill,

Optimistic I know, but I don't suppose there are any demo C1's in the UK, anywhere near the Dart ?

Re: Pyranha Prelude OC1 For Sale

Few more questions for the OC1 feedback committee, if they don't mind :-) What about 10 1/2 stone and 5' 11" - fairly dry - or just not as wet as a skeeter ? What's it like on grade 4 - e.g. upper Dart ? Is it the same hull as the skeeter - seems to recollect someone saying it was. If it handles sim...

Re: Most continues grade 3 paddle

Somewhat further south, the Middle Tavy would fit the bill, as long as there's enough water and you get there within 12 hours of the rain finishing... If it's really high, you'd need to do it twice - or do the Lower Plym as well. With plenty of water the Walkham would also be entertaining. I suppose...

Paddled the Upper on Sunday.

No hassles - saw no fishermen, only a handful of walkers who were perfectly friendly.

RIVER TAVY (Hill Bridge to Harford Bridge) Shuttles

Just an idea - not mine originally, but seemed a sensible one. If everyone shuttled from Harford Bridge up the river left via Peter Tavy, but came back down the other way through from Hill Bridge via Horndon and Mary Tavy, (which is virtually the same distance), it would make things a bit easier... ...

Re: RIVER TEIGN (A382 Bridge to Steps Bridge)

Mountain biked along it today and there's a tree all the way across the river just before the weir just above Fingle Bridge. Would probably be able to get over it at more paddleable levels...but it may collect all sorts of other debris. Also there's a new footbridge, just above the big weir near the...

Probably, but not further north than the Lake district or the Tees - otherwise it just gets a bit silly on the driving from Devon.

Re: RIVER TAVY (Tavistock to Denham Bridge)

Paddled the Walkham today and our solicitor friend has now put large blocks of stone on the perimeter of his bit of land, which has reduced the area available for parking quite a bit. It was full when we got there today. As posted above, if you cross the bridge and go up the hill taking the next lef...

Re: Lost C1 paddle - Middle Tavy

Yup.

Splits worked fine though !

Roger had a couple of incidents...

Good to do it with water in, but much more would have made the trees an issue in my boat - can't get as low as a kayak.

Denham Bridge

If you're after 15th October when the fishing season finishes, you should be OK. Before that, expect potential major hassle sat Denham bridge. The solicitor seems to have started keeping an eye open for paddlers, even if you have no boats on the roof... we tried in early September. He's also started...

Middle Tavy - Hill Bridge down - Tree across whole river

About half way down the run -can be sneaked through at low to medium levels on river left, but could be really nasty at high levels.
