Rab Wave and Campsite

Hi folks, Has anybody stayed on the Rabioux campsite since they played with the river bed in 2016? I've not stayed there since the '90s (when I've been in the Ecrin we've been next to the Biasse or the Gyronde) but on the website it all looks quite nice again. Is the wave any good again? If so for w...

Valley thigh braces

...and now for my next gear conundrum. Does anybody have a source thigh braces for a nordkapp RM? One of mine has fallen to bits (the wing nut embedded in the foam has pulled out through it). I've emailed Valley and not had any reply. Also has anyone upgraded the foam thigh braces on the nordy RM to...

Re: Wobbly Corryvreckans ^

Hi folks, So paddles came back today. Because they're the old version (with the button that sits proud of the shaft) Werner haven't been able to replace the male end. They have replaced the female end with the new style button that sits flat with the shaft. Because they haven't been able to replace ...

Re: Wobbly Corryvreckans

So they can be fixed, but it involves System X (the UK importers) sending them off to the states for Werner to fix them which should take 4-6 weeks and cost £40. System X have been really helpful and very quick to get back to me. I'll wave my paddles goodbye tomorrow and let you know how it goes. Ch...

Wobbly Corryvreckans ^

Hi folks, The spllined spigot thing that joins my Werner Corryvreckan splits is wearing, giving a load of play in the middle of the shaft where the splits join together. They're not my main paddles, so it seems a shame to convert them into non-splits and then never use them. Does anybody know if you...

Objection needs to be submitted within the next 10 days (by 21 June). I've already objected, please do too. The area where the new by-law is to apply is significantly more than just the usual car-camping spots that get trashed every year. Pleasingly the proposed law says it's OK shelter under an umb...

Re: Pros cons of a Nordkapp RM

Hi there, I paddle a Nordkapp RM as my main sea kayak (indeed I'm on my second one). As Mike said, best thing to do is to try one, it's not exactly the same as the glass Nordkapps (which aren't exactly the same as each other if that makes sense)! As folks have said it is pretty heavy - definitely no...

Hi folks, Does anyone have one of these from a raptor that I could have or buy? http://www.georgefell.co.uk/footrest.jpg I broke one getting out for one of the many portages on the Humla. Re: River Leny - A84 layby to Lade Inn

Hi folks, Today (20/2/15) there was a tree in the wee drop at the end of the gorge below the falls. At today's levels it went fine over the river left rock, but a lower levels the normal river right channel would be completely blocked. Easy to see from the river bank as long as you stop to inspect. ...

What a pretty visualisation. The data is from GFS (the American global model). The data is available for free (from www.grib.us if I remember correctly), so it's what's used by most of the weather websites (XCweather, metcheck etc.), but not BBC and Met Office, which use the met office model. Anyway...
