Double Composite Kayak. North Shore Calypso II

I'm selling Big Jessie a double kayak. Have a look at the link. The scrapes on the deck have been gel coated for waterproofing but need finished off. The rudder probably needs a new wire threaded through. The rear deck hatch needs new straps. Anymore questions just PM me. I have just posted it for s...

I don't mind saying that I didn't sleep properly last night after watching it.
I don't know how to describe it. Moving, disturbing, shocking and amazing.

Pyranha I:3 223

I just haven't had the time to use this boat. It's been in the shed for a year. I have been down one river and used it in the surf a few times. A few years old but no major dings, just the usual scratches. Ratchets showing signs of rust but work fine. Length 226cm Width 68cm Suggested load weight in...

My current goretex suit also has goretex socks. They have failed at the seams. I am now considering the Lomo suit.

Lovely boat, considered tippy but if you have little sea experience then how would you know :-) I've only fallen out of mine once and the incident was strangely familiar to the one Mike Thomson had and wrote about in the latest edition on Ocean Paddler. If you can get it for a decent price and you d...

I doubt the boys involved have heard about the code. I'll print it off and send a copy along to the Seaboard Memorial Hall in Balintore. The shark involved faired better than this one which was hauled up in a herring net last month in the same place. It's a 6ft Porbeagle. It was sold to a fish merch...

Mike, I was out a couple of weeks ago at Balintore. First time I have been tipped over backwards on the way out ! Rolling up I was hit by the next wave and bailed out. Swimming in and getting hit by the next five was fun. Not as big as the Thurso surf but definatley big enough for me. Also discovere...

I was surfing in my boat today, or trying to. Had the whole beach to myself as usual.
When I came off a local surfer asked me how I got on, then gave me a few tips on the best time to catch the waves.

Peace man.

Ditto. My phone was pretty damp when I used one of these and water got into the boat. My three Exped bags went missing recently, the wife got me another wee bag from Tiso's last week. I am in the process of building a rack in the garden. Plain old angle for the uprights, angle or flatbar between them and small section for the kayak supports. I will also be using my old friend the polypipe, this will go around the supports before they are bolted into place. I will then tape or tie...

I find it quite leaky. When bracing I think it might be getting in the underarm zips. When rolling it's getting in the velcro tightened neck. I hope you got 'booked in' as we couldn't. We were told it was fully booked June and July !

The area just to the north around Oldany island is stunning. Slightly further north is Handa and Loch Laxford.

Also check out this post form Zoe.
