Wanted- Dagger thigh braces

I'm looking for a pair of Dagger thigh braces with the over-centre backband tightening things as fitted to earlier Mambas (and possibly other boats too).
If anyone has a pair to spare please PM me with your price.

Thanks, Jim.

Perception Sonic

My Perception Sonic is for sale. This is a fast and competent river or surf boat, underrated I reckon. It's in good condition with the usual scratches but nothing deep and no dents. The boat is at Berwick on Tweed an hour from both Edinburgh and Newcastle. I can send some pictures to anyone who PMs ...

North East Kayaks.

Their service is always spot on.

They recently replaced the seat for my Valley Gemini after Valley refused to do it under warranty.

Mitchell Blades Ultra Hybrid paddle

I'm selling my Mitchell Blades Ultra Hybrid paddle with carbon straight shaft. It's right handed, 197 long with 45 degree feather and orange blades. The paddle is about 3 years old, so there are plenty of scratches as you would expect but it is in sound condition. £130 Located near Berwick on Tweed ...

Tree in the Tweed

There's a tree limb in the water at the end of the main rapid at Makerstoun. It's sticking up vertically at the narrow bit after the goat hole about 1m out from the edge, right in the main flow. We paddled round it OK (and ramped up it upside down - just to check if it's safe of course) but it's an ...

I have a Northshore Atlantic for sale.
It's an early two hatch double skinned one identical to a Valley Aquanaut club I believe.
I am at Berwick on Tweed, Nortumberland.
Please PM me if you are interested.

Thanks, Jim.

Re: 1st sea boat

Icould be persuaded to part with my North shore Atlantic, which is a highly regarded boat.
It's a plastic boat with foam bulkheads and 2 deck hatches so not too pricey!
I'm after £480 for mine; PM me and I will send you some pictures.
I am at Berwick on Tweed.

North Shore Atlantic RM

This is the earlier version of the Atlantic so it is the double skinned one with two deck hatches. It has had close contact with a few barnacles in its time so is well scratched but none are deep. It's a sound boat with a working skeg and footrests and waterproof hatches. The boat is at Berwick on T...

Re: Kayaking opportunities nr Galashiels

Nice to see you have your priorities sorted. There is plenty boating and boaters around Gala. The Ettrick and Yarrow are close and good fun if not too hard at grade 2-3+ The tweed goes all year and is good for summer fun The Whiteadder is a full on spate run which is really good when it's wet enough...

Bridge down in the Ettrick

The old suspension bridge at the take-out from the Ettrick gorge (Howford) has collapsed into the river.
It's at a fairly flat bit but would be dangerous in high water.
Hopefully it'll be removed soon.

You really need to get yourself a copy of the SCA guidebook Scottish White Water.
It's all in there, a quick look would have told you it was unwise to go.

Re: Dirty great gouges in boats

Maybe it wasn't a pipe then but it seems very unusual to get so many scrapes in one day.
I've never had anything worse than scratches and I can grind over rocks with the best of them.

Despite the damage it was a great day; lots of boats on the same rapid makes for some interesting lines!

Dirty great gouges in boats

While enjoying the Halloween paddle on the Nith on Sunday three of our boats got bad gouges in the hulls. We suspect a piece of scaffolding pipe hidden in the rapid after the bridge (with the scaffolding on it!) I didn't see it myself but it was mentioned and to get 3 badly damaged boats it must be ...

Re: Awesome Playwave on the Tweed

Sounds like Banff Mill/Henderside to me.
We do paddle there sometimes, although the first wave has some rocks just below the surface which can spoil the fun.
The downstream wave/hole is good fun though.
