Re: How stretchy are latex socks on drysuit ?

My friend has a Lomo drysuit with latex socks, he's got size 16 feet and has no problems with them. His problem is finding overshoes large enough which he has sourced from the USA in the past.

Re: Serious incident reporting and analysis or just unlucky?

I've said this before but I think we lose out by not having a formal correlation of incidents. I'm also a scuba diver and incidents are reported. Correlated, and annually reported. I for one have learnt many lessons from these reports. Our lack of A formal incidents report system is a danger to newe...

Re: Rescue Course Obstruction at Holne Bridge

I was on the loop this weekend but must have been lucky with my timing as I had no problems. Creating an obstruction on that wave train this weekend is just negligent! The Dart was very busy and anybody who knows this part of the river will appreciate the poor judgement here. Monday would have made ...

Like Jim says its a none starter. No way can it give the gas volume the lungs would need. Even if it could give the required oxygen I very much doubt it could give the overall gas volume to keep the lungs inflated ( Scuba diving being my other pastime)

Re: Stupidly big feet and drysuits

I've got a friend with size 16 feet!!! He uses a Lomo drysuit as they have largelatex socks built in. I know he struggles for kayaking shoes and has to get them from the USA, he uses wetsuit boots. Personally I'd be reluctant to use a drysuit without built in shoes as its normally your feet which fe...

Re: Attitudes towards solo kayaking

Have done a few solo trips but only on low grades I know and are happy with. I find it a real buzz and I definetly focus more. I find a lot of people seriously frown on it though. I also scuba dive and again occasionally dive on my own, again it tends to make me up my game and focus more. Wouldn't d...

Hi, the kit fitted a Peugeot 306 "N" , if you check Thule website it should say if the fitting kits are the same or not.

Re: North west / wales boat demo

Yes I'd second kayaks north west. With recent shop closures I feel this will get harder. I'd been interested in having a demo in a dagger nomad for the past 18 months, struggled to find a demo which was available and logistically near moving water. Also I didn't know anybody with one. In the end I b...

Although everybody raved about the newer model, when I tried the the newer model ( all be it in a swimming pool) , I actually preferred my older model. Probably down to familiarity! Have now converted to a Dagger nomad and love it, although being a displacement hull I didn't think I would , BUT I do...

Got to be my Dagger Medevil! My first "modern" short boat. I fitted in so snug even without ratchets etc, plastic was bomb proof, unfortunately I eventually accepted I was too heavy for it!

Re: Front noserepairs

Always got away with putting the nose in a pot of boiling water and pouring boiling water in and using a broom to push out the nose. Have since taken to having airbags or wine bags in the nose to help when it goes for a swim on its own, hope this helps!

you paddled a Burn & a Nomad? what are your thoughts

I'm interested in your thoughts if you've paddled both a burn and a Nomad. I paddle a large burn and although I tend to like the boat I'm interested if a nomad may suit me. One thing I have found with the burn is its hard to roll. Just got myself an old nomad to try as finding a demo boat was near i...

Had a good think about this and all the equipment myself and my son have bought over the last ten years has been from shops and not the internet. Re: Support your local Kayak shop

Interesting thoughts. Personally I would have thought paddle works at Llangollen was in the perfect place but again it will close shortly. I'm sure the access wrangling on site haven't helped but to be honest I always found the shop a little sterile. I've rarely seen people buying when I've been in ...
