Mile End Mill?
Can one of you kind souls tell me the state of the Dee at Mile End Mill please?
I might just be in the area this coming Thurs/Fri and wouldn't mind a quick paddle.
Thanks.

The Derwent at Matlock. Get on at Darley Dale for a couple of hours at G1-2, a tiny bit of G3 under the town bridge, a little old surf wave at artists corner and the slalom site to finish. You can get out and run the slalom site time and again.
Not too far from Stafford.

Tees! This November, just got off at Abbey rapid and I'm walking up the hill to get the car that is parked in the lay-by opposite farm. there is a 4x4 parked as traffic lights are red. I see the window coming down and think ".....here we go!" The old lady inside (70 ish) says "have you had a great d...

My father in law owns a caravan park and was looking to purchase another with a view to me & the Mrs running it. I was only too keen for him to buy it, this was 2 years ago now. When we looked at it he thought it wasn't viable at that price, the very nice and sizeable house off sets the income poten...

We had a feeling that we were massively down on last year, but upon counting we are just up on last years figures, though we've done more kids club based activities. Since the olympics we've been really busy, lots of email enquiries, having to tell people that our courses are full etc..... We put on...

I'd like to see a more secure drop off area for boats. I usually go with my son or mates, so at least one person can be around the boats while the driver parks the car in a different county..... Lone paddlers are potentially leaving kit unattended for 10 minutes at the drop off, plenty of time for s...

I would second talking to Desperate Measures. In the last 2 years they have sorted us out with two large orders.
Nice people to do business with.

Most of us already carry them in our boats- airbags. Cut the end of your airbag off in an emergency, the bag plus the tube is about 3' long. Should do in a pinch.

I enjoyed the angler who warbled on about these awful canoeists," because they row past me in 8's and just snap my pole"
Jezza replied "Surely the cox should see it and tell them to avoid it...."
The only cox were Jezza & the fisherman.

Did a thread appear on UKRGB saying " Uni clubs shouldn't let freshers do this kind of thing". Then the Daily Mail prints a story about irrisponsible risk taking jiggery pokery by "canoeist lunatics- Princess Diana wouldn't have approved", and to round it all off the angling community said "See, tol...

As Ryan hinted, Richard Bacon was waffling on about how the weather was stopping people from doing things on his show. Your name was mentioned, and that you couldn't get on the water as it's gone all solid.

Cambridge canoe club are a fine upstanding bunch. Plenty of trips, always something going on, on and off the water. And you'll get to meet Charlie.
