Re: Griff on Rivers
It's a great series and very much shows the diverse usage of rivers, industrial and diverse recreational use. From what I've seen Griff gives a good balanced view of all different users. If people want to fish fine, if I want to paddle I will try to accomodate those fisherfolk so long as they accomo...

Thx all, Mark it would be great if you could join us, it would be good to get together, I know (well from 12 years ago) all the rivers I'm likely to paddle, and quite a few I have no intention of paddling!!! We will be arriving in the Alps sometime on Friday, not sure where we will be camping, think...

Re: Confidence loss - Any advice?
From experience when you first start paddling you dont really know the risks so learn very quickly, after a few years of not paddling so much getting back to the harder stuff is much harder!!!
As previously said time and encouragement are the key things!!!

Re: Campsite in French Alps
If you are just paddlers with out wifes and kids to worry about just get out there and paddle and find campsites as you go, there are lots of sites most will have space pretty much anytime. There is some wild camping as well which can be quite nice :-)

Re: Paddle Grip Modification - Sore Elbow
Get yourself to a good physio they can give you some good exercises to help improve your elbow problems. Note how ever that Ive had both tennis and golf elbow and paddling doesn't actually make tennis elbow worse getting boats of and on the roof however does, golf elbow throw does how ever get worse...

Re: Alps Trip - Suitable For All Levels?
Briancon area is the best their is plenty of good grade 1-2 lots of 3 and everything upto nasty grade 6. In june very few rivers are likely to be running out of water. If you get complety stupid amounts of water like this year and you are camping you can always relocate to the ardech.. Bear in mind ...
