Re: Video: Nant Gwyryd (North Wales)
We were out the same day in the afternoon, and I dropped my boat once/twice in the wind at the get-in. It also hailed on us, just to add to everything. But a cracking run! Hail dropped onto us just as we paddled off the lake at the end.

hi evolvedlight just a quick one, its not possible to do this live - which is why the google cal goes out of date a few hours after you manually update it....! As a database scripter - its not possible to integrate into a live, back-end, sql based BD... which is https transmitted ! Unless LVWWC cen...

Coming soonish, when it's collected more data - a graph view of when sessions book up, and past trends so you know when you need to book on by. In this case, looks like a club booked all remaining sessions in one shot, as 29 slots went within an hour. http://i.imgur.com/7cGKDOY.png And here, a more ...

Re: Lee Valley schedule in Google Calendar
I've just added a feature that helps distinguish between sessions that are about to start, sessions in the past, and sessions in the future that actually have no space left. Enjoy!

Lee Valley schedule in Google Calendar
Hi All I find the Lee Valley website a bit annoying - takes a few minutes to find the page, login, then click through just to find which slots are available. On top of that, it's not possible to see how many sessions are left. A little known secret of the Lee Valley website is that it's actually pos...

2pm on the East Lyn on the 2nd Jan. Ran the first crux and the stopper at the end backlooped me and ripped me out of my boat. At least the swim was only a metre or so..

You sometimes have to phone a couple of times but were generally helpful. My kayak came a bit slowly but due to a problem with the manufacturer, not Sue's Canoes.

£270 - that's the £230 plus £40 for Paisley Freight.
I should be going to past the Midlands early January so can probably make the trip personally for say £250 delivered then.

Re: Is Lee Valley is closing over Christmas?
When I chatted to them, yes, they are closing on that date. They didn't know when it would be opening. It's for the expansion (for example I think they are going to turn the big gravel area from the Olympics into a new carpark next to the center.

For Sale: £250 Dagger RX 6,9, great river runner/playboat
Selling my Dagger RX 6.9 due to lack of recent use and running out of space on my balcony for kayaks. Re: Mint- don't paddle it
We mistakenly looked at rainchasers and it suggests getting on very high up the river. Mistake indeed - this river is rubbish from that point. Some points on the river were a tossup between going over rocks or through trees. A number of trees completely blocking river.

My only criticism was that there were hardly any signs in Waltham Cross signposting the course. I had to run around like a mad girl asking people where it is and only just arrived in time. I expected lots of signs like there are on the approach to HPP, maybe/hopefully they will appear in time. Fun ...

I went last night, Wednesday 8pm-9pm and it was great. Three of us on the course and two rafts. A changing room all to myself, parking right next to the center, and a friendly chat with the staff. Well recommended! They're going to be doing Olympic paddling most nights each week - you just need to c...

What's with the proficiency test and why do you have to do one when signing a piece of paper elsewhere is good enough? Steve. The olympic course is significantly harder than any other artificial course in the UK. I know at HPP they used to ask that people were 3* - it would be a 4* at Lee Valley. I...

Re: Dart risen half a metre in minutes
A group of us managed to fight the roads around Exeter (took a back road to sidmouth) with the aim of nailing something fun. We got to the Avon around 11am(two landslides on the road). It looked pretty full on - nothing too bad on the river apart from a dodgy slot on the gorge, but the potential of ...

2-3 years ago we did it at around this time and Paris (going around, or perhaps through it on some motorway) turned out to be fine. The other car avoided Paris and they were at least an hour slower. Were we lucky? Probably.

Nice. What date did you paddle this on? We did it 3 days ago on Friday, at very similar levels to this. That tree you see just before the hardcore bit is still there. You can avoid it by hitting right of those rocks.

Try playing them with VLC - if that doesn't work they are too far corrupted. If it does play, you can them re-encode them with VLC to a non corrupted file.

Nice video. If you want tips: When you edit it and put photos in, make sure you get the resolution right. Those black bars are wasted space on youtube, reduce the quality/resolution of your footage and are a bit annoying. Second - I find with GoPro videos that they do not show up the height of most ...

Haha, usually that route down the first 5 is pretty unusual and usually avoided. The slab on video left of where they went is normally the line as it puts you well over the stopper with a little speed.

Re: Varied ability group in North Wales
We're taking a very similar type of group this weekend. We were going to do the Upper Glaslyn, but it's probably going to be too much of a scrape so the Lower T is looking likely instead, followed by the Dee on Sunday. There are of course a few suitable rivers around, but with the levels so low, and...
