Pic? Shouldn't be too big a job to fix them depending how bad the damage is. Have a search for composite repairs on the sea kayaking bit for some instructions.

Re: Food for multi-day trips
Plenty of other options available in Nepal too, pasta + soup mix isn't much bulkier than rice and makes a good change, the foil packed tuna in oily sauce is pretty good and noodles are cheap and available everywhere if not so filling. Baby food is cheaper than oats over there. It's got loads of calo...

3 year old, but still pretty dry Palm Torrent drysuit size L - £150 This is the 2nd generation one, dark blue all over. Re: (Very well) welded Raptor and Nelo slalom boat - both £2
Sorry, the previous owner doesn't know the model either. As a guess I'd say you might be a touch on the heavy side for it? Previous owner was probably a wee bit lighter than me. I'm about 5'9 and footrests will now fit someone a bit taller and shorter than me. Just remembered I have a brand new Imme...

3.5m, don't think it's that old. Not sure on model, will ask someone and get back to you.
Looks like the Raptor is sold.

(Very well) welded Raptor and Nelo slalom boat - both £250
Zet Raptor - only 3 months old, pretty good nick except for weld on one side. This was caused by hitting a sharp rock fast and puncturing the side, definitely not because the boat is on it's way out. I've welded lots of boats before, and am pretty confident this is really solid. It's lasted a month ...

Aside from that, anyone else really excited to see the rest of the event? I think the format and concept of the whole event is class! Anyone remember that photo of Dane throwing a massive airscrew on the Nile when he was about 11? I don't know much about big wave freestyle but find it hard to believe sheer strength is the limiting factor. There's a few top lady playboaters not there. There's only 7 ladies to 25 men. Half of the me...

Re: Highest WW in England?
I've put on Killhope Burn a lot higher than that - about 530m I reckon. Where the road gets steep above the leadmining centre. Tees starts a lot higher than that if it's wet enough and you like walking. There are roads up there if you could get permission. No rapids that really look worth the effort...

I'm not sure there is a lip at the bottom that is forming that wave. If there is I didn't feel anything the other day at low/med levels. I reckon it'll be fine at most normal levels that the section gets run at.

It looked like lots of work had been done on the road down from Ramnaghat when I was there last November. We paddled down to Devisthal anyway as there were no buses running because of a strike. Yep all done now - looks like it's going to be fine at most normal water levels. Slide with green wave at the bottom right and left, fish pass a bit like the one at Chollerford on the Tyne centre left and just to the right of that a deeper chute with a walled in sticky looking hole at the bottom (pr...

Re: Is Perception's guarantee/service any good ?
Main class is for boats up to nine feet long, so I'm already in the minority "long boat" category. Liking the effort you're going to to try and get it under 9 feet though! Maybe do the other end too? Are you allowed to enter in a modified boat? Yes! Regretting doing this to my old Mirage now, that ...

Re: Drysuit socks
Don't know what everyone does to fabric socks to make them leak so badly. They were the very last thing to go on my 4 year old Typhoon suit - pretty much everything else on the suit had fallen apart and I ended up cutting holes in the socks to drain the water out when the zip blew open. They're just...

Interesting. I think your formula needs some further testing though, what sort of chances of line success would you give this run of Triple Step? https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/407144_563682816988358_1667389086_n.jpg If the formula doesn't work, I'm sure you can remember it p...

My tips from the last couple of weeks. Don't plan a trip to Nepal during a nationwide strike and general election when all the roads are closed and the buses aren't running. Definitely don't book your flight home for the day of the election. It might also not be a good idea to go and do the Thuli Bh...

If your passenger doesn't mind sitting behind you (assuming 1 passenger if 2 boats) you can get 2 playboats in something Clio/Fiesta/Corsa sized as long as the front seat goes all the way back.
