I can see how moving down a river is navigating, but I would not like to test out playing in a rapid/surf wave/hole constantly in a legal case.

Re: River Bran/Conon (Inverness)
The Grudie Power station releases most days at teatime and it makes the100m of river below it go and the play wave but that's it as it hits the loch.I don't think it affects the Conon as there is a dam before it.The Grudie river when running is one of the best sections around.

I,ve seen it on a big release and it looked incredible, slides, drops with no break a few 100yds all together.A bit like across between the Tuitum burn and Alt a chorn. The day it was going we were lucky to get the Farrer in good condition which is online and maybe connected by tunnels to the Cannich?

The whole run goes ok through all the gorges mentioned, but the trees change all the time. You can scout from above or eddy hoping. We have alwayse got down it if careful. At the get in layby there is a big round 5ft boulder in the middle of the river. If half is showing then its ok.If covered then its n...

Re: Tromie Put-In?
The owners HATE the public using their private road, why put that in a guide?Just walk up the tarmac road a couple of hundred yards past a deer fence which crosses maybe a km from the main road.Nice g3 with a little g4 which is easy to walk round.Cheers

River Tromie
How do you correct a river guide? The Tromie entry says "drive up the private road".The land owners in this case hate people driving on their private road.Scotland has no right of access by car.

The trees can turn a 3 ,3plus run to a very dodgy treecity, but a gooed flood can clear it out but watch the trees.
