I'd be up for that!
Living mid Hampshire. Also, just getting back into it and happy to do any white water up to class 4.
Former L4 coach, so at least I used to know what I was doing!!!

Thankyou Denzil!
I was kind of thinking along the same lines - having previously owned a SR lid - never used the ear covers due to the fiddliness.
Probably going for the basic surf hat - keeping it simple!

Re: Gath Helmets
Thankyou Mr The Ski! I already have lids for the river - if I go for the Gath it will only be for surfing - don't want to wreck my nice river ones in salt water, and they're a little over the top for wave riding! I like the orignal surf hat, and I like the convertable - but which is best? Is there o...

Anyone use a Gath Surf Convertable helmet (with the removable ear thingy's)?
Opinions?
Thinking about getting one - or should I just go for the standard jobbie?

Re: Spraydeck HELP!!!!
Thanks Denzil - I'll look into it!
Is this some kind of clever ploy by Mega - to get you hooked on surf boats, but frustrated with the cheap stuff so you buy a nice new composite one? Like some kind of evil pusher!!
Mmwwaaahhhhaaa!!

Re: Surf Kayak lap / thigh belts ?
You mention your boat is a Neutron, if it is the original model rather than the RV then it will have those rubber thigh braces and the rubber will probably be past its best around the bolts by now if it has had reasonable use so these are probably not aiding you in staying braced in the boat. It ma...

Re: Expanding foam???
Glad I asked!!! Just thought I'd be lazy! (having used it for DIY purposes)
Guess I'll have to get the minicell foam and EVO impact out!
I have got a Jackson footbag, but need to pack out the bow a bit for a better fit = the bag sits just a little too far forward.

I'm thinking of using expanding foam to create a footrest in my Neutron HDP.
Will it work?

Help me with my plastic Neutron!
After many years of sliding down waves in a playboat, I decided it was time for rails and fins - so got a plastic Neutron. Went out in it for the first time time the other day - poo surf - 1 to 2 ft wind blown, but the occasional nice set coming through. Had some really awesome rides which totally c...

Have you tried linking this to the main Inland forum - stacks more people looking in there. The thief looks like an outdoor type, and very probably local - if someone knows him they will instantly recognise him.

What boat do you surf? and was the reef usable in a kayak? Denzil Currently sliding around in my (ancient) wavesport Super EZ - but will be getting a plastic Mega Neutron - just waiting delivery! I haven't had a deck blow on me for years - but it was quite a heavy wave that closed out and landed on...

Best Spraydeck for Surf?
I had a 'blow out' today at Boscombe artificial reef - which resulted in a very long swim back to the beach.
This was a good work out, but I really didn't enjoy it very much!
What deck are you kayak surfers using?

Re: River Dart tragedy 21/11/9 - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
Chris - I don't know if our paths ever crossed - the first I knew of you was from the news. I was with non paddlers at the time, they were critical, not knowing the 'reason', they annoyed and angered me. I tried to explain, but not for long - they clearly didn't get it. I got it, I understand, I kno...
