Re: SWSK3
Thanks for all the contributions so far - so useful ideas. Any more updates on 'South West Sea Kayaking' very welcome, as I'm still working on it! I will read up more on Pacific Oysters, that is a new one on me. It's just occurred to me (nothing to do with the book) that the Lynher-Tiddy trip would ...

Hi there. This message is for those who own a copy of my guidebook 'South West Sea Kayaking' - the book has just sold out its most recent print run (just a few copies left on Amazon I think) and I'm working on the third edition. Make my job easier, please - what is out of date? What has changed in t...

Thanks Chris. I'd post a whole lot more about this amazing adventure if folk were interested, but I can see that I have been hugely eclipsed by a query about towing eyes.

River Thames is (perhaps surprisingly) outstanding, and no portaging necessary
Pub Paddles is excellent, but based around short paddles. To the pub.

I briefly met him in Switzerland, a few weeks back. Seemed a nice enough chap, but the main topic of conversation afterwards was whether the shirtless wall of muscle we'd just encountered was actually Ragnar Lothbrok.

Italy/ Switzerland trip 2018
Just returned from a week of boating with a group of fellow out-of-shape and out-of-practice middle-aged friends...here follow a few river notes, that may or may not be of use to folk. Basically our trip was dictated by two things; water levels (i.e. what wasn't too high/ scary) and the fact that we...

Re: Kaituna Lower Gorges
Splendid. I paddled Awesome Gorge a few times, but not the following section. Back then this was known as 'Gnarly Gorge' and we were told by those who'd been in there that it contained a blind 30-footer and some awful log jams. "Never again", I think one Kiwi said. Is any of that true?
