I agree this whole thing is a farce. Therefore, despite what quicky says about this doing more harm than good, who would be interested in a university access paddle (open to non uni paddlers too), leaving from imperial boathouse, and ending in a giant party? When the seals on my cag started dying I phoned up Andi Riley (It was a dam X cag) and he said that seal saver actually made things worse. He recommended using a hairdryer on the seal if it started to go white-ish, although I never actually tried this.

So now we're not even allowed to paddle on the Thames! I can buy the parking argument, however if we were to find our own parking e.g. imperial boathouse, then that's no longer an issue. I don't buy the health and safety argument e.g. DW as Tom mentioned. Which only leaves the security argument. If ...

Looks like the access demo is now being mentioned on the front page of the BCU website which is a good start. Not quite sure why they're limiting it to 100 paddlers though?
