Annual Whitewater Photography Competition
I entered last year, got knocked out straight away, but really enjoyed reading the feedback and the seeing the continuous high calibre of white water photography from the other contestants. I am hoping to enter again this year and think there may be a few places. It costs $5 now which given the priz...

Re: Dart boat rental
Thanks for the suggestions and for the kind people that pm'd me. I ended up driving to the dart empty handed and placing my fate in the good humanity of kayakers ( assuming I would end up being shuttle driver!). Luckily I met a lovely chap called Matt, who despite having never met me, lent me his bo...

Presumably It's so he can play polo. :) #SW@G.... My school kids keep saying this term what the hell does it actually mean? OK it turns out I may have slightly overreacted *shock horror*. Rush has supposedly secured a video/athlete partnership ( aka he got a free t-shirt). That is more like the pro...

Re: Trying to find work in Chile (gap year)
A young American friend of mine in a similar situation managed to do something very similar last year out in Pucon. If I was you I would buy a ticket which was cheap to change and head out there with a good sense of adventure and willingness to try your hand at anything. If it works, perfect you get...

Incase there was any doubt that kayaking was a white man's sport Rush Sturges went and joined team Ralph Lauren. Seriously.
I think I am going to quit kayaking and take up basketball.

Best Extreme Kayak Races
What do you think are the ' best' extreme creek races out there at the moment? I recently took part in the Cherry Creek' Paddle as Fast as You Can' event. It definitely was one of the more intimidating events I have enjoyed. Here is a quick video - the white water footage starts just over half way i...

I think that is challenging to become a ' big deal' in kayaking and therefore in some way it is a big deal.

I took my boat up over New Year hoping to get in a day or two of paddling. Ended up stayed up there for 3 weeks and was never short of stuff to do.
Get used to paddling class V with poggies on.
Fun times.

I agree with you to a certain extent but I think that some people have a skewed vision of paddling in California. Drone Footage of South Silver, California
Seems like drone footage is all the craze. Super expensive toy but clearly a lot of fun. I can't afford a Go Pro so doubt I will be buying one of these anytime soon. More proof that the RPM is the best boat ever
This video has some of my favorite things in it, smooth lines, the Little White Salmon, an RPM kayak and reggae tunes. All set in a beautiful snowy wonderland. Kyle Hull is a super smooth paddler and makes the whole thing look effortless. Seriously is there anything the RPM can't do? Enjoy https://v...

Insurance for perpetual river bums?
In the past I have always used snow card or BMC, however neither will cover me for my current requirements.
Any suggestions? I need someone who will cover me for trips over 90 days, including america, including Class V white water.
Help?! Please.

You can get last minute stand by flights to Livingstone from Lusaka. I managed to blag my boat on one of these. That was nicer than taking hte bus for sure.
Bus is fine though. Much better than some I have been on, just a long trip.
