Re: Uganda: What kit?

Well when i was there last year i stayed most of the time at NRE to go do the river running on day 1 section, but apparently more kayakers are staying around the Lemon these days. However, someone who's been out there more recently will probably know the accommodation situation a bit better. I staye...

Re: Uganda: What kit?

I was there jan and feb last year, only took 2 shirts, boardies, flipflops that soon got left behind most of the time and i went barefoot, paddle, deck, boat, BA, helmet and i picked up a length of inner tube rubber to tie around my waist to make the deck more waterproof - worked a treat, wish i had...

Jamie's full run of the upper dart on the 5th step. Both me and Tom ended up walking out after swims and Jamie solo'd the last bit from euthanasia down to the get out, fair play!

Couple of tinnies fit well in the BA and also in the water bottle holder is ideal for stashing an emergency vodka bottle. Sometimes I even manage to grab a slice of bread whilst being dragged hungover from my bed to the car, which is always a winner

Re: "I thought I was immortal"

I plan on being immortal. So far so good. But reading that article I have had a very similar experience earlier this year on the Dart in decent flows, nasty swim with lots of trees and holes to batter the breath from me before pushing me underwater again. Still want to go back and do it again at the...

Paddles on the Upper Dart LOST.

Hi there, we had a bit of an epic on the Upper Dart today (everyone ok!) but two carbon werner straightshafts were lost, both black in coulour (not very helpful for seeing!), one plain and one with a monster energy sticker on the blade. Would be very appreciative if they came back, and there would b...

The Finna Gorge in Norway was awesome, only one quick scout, ran everything, non-stop G4 for the whole run through an awesome steep gorge, no epics. Just real fun! Also ran Moneydrop which was pretty cool, play boats go a long way underwater on that drop! The Nile was also a definite highlight, very...
