Re: Lechlade to London in 7 days - advice on B&Bs and stopping places along the way
Paddled the section from Lechalade to Sandford Lock, you can camp at Rushey Lock this is just for Thames water users, the next night you can camp at iffley lock flat campsite on an island with trees for hammocks and lots of space (from memory) there are a few pubs near the campsites possibly b& B bu...

Re: Drysuit tape - is it worth buying your own?
Just a thought, I am pretty sure Typhoon have a 3 year possibly longer warranty so I would get it back to them, anything you bodge/ repair yourself will null and void the warranty. They do a fantastic job and a very fast turn around time.

Re: Difference between Stout + connect river
The main differences are the Seats the Connect is the older style not as supportive as the Stout. I really like the Stout seats and find it more comfortable and more supportive so I can get a much comfier tighter fit with it, I also added quite a few foam shims under the seat to raise my hips inline...

Re: 9-foot creeker comparison
I liked the 9r, fast responsive super fun but some found it to be a bit lively, it suits me also the Ripper is fun as you can tailsquirt your hearts content down the rapid, splat anything. the best is try to paddle them and find out which works best for you. You also should ask yourself how many rac...

Re: Help! I've cracked my Paddle
I fixed my Grey Owl which had a similar crack along the grain, I sanded down the finish to get the varnish off and used strong wood glue, clamped it over night until cured. wipe off any excess to save sanding/ chiseling afterwards, I then oiled it with several coats (danish or linseed can't remember...

Re: Do you need a backband?
By loosing the backrest off and moving the footrest slightly forwards encourages you to engage your core muscles, better posture and in turn better technique. My back band is loose for most things including creeking and playboating, if I get tired I can adjust it in to give more support, this idea h...

Re: Axiom 8.5 advice
Hi Jim, I found at 80kg the 8.5 was a bit low in the water when running 4/5 and the 9 worked mug better but it did need extra padding out to get the most out of the oat, I raised my seat with extra foam to bring my hips in line with the cockpit rim and this made a huge difference and improvement on ...

Re: Are there any decent electic pumps for inflatable SUPs?
I have used a stihl petrol blower to inflate rafts quickly, never had any issues with over heating, just start with the valves in the open position, close when almost at pressure and then finish with tour hand pump. Used to inflate 5-10 16ft raft flotilla They aren't cheap but last well and take abu...

Re: Casual River Rafting??
Could be worth chatting to the rafting centres(CIWW, Tryweryn, HPP) as they sell off their older rafts from time to time, this would give you a much comfier option than a c1 kneeling position and without the need of strapping people to tubes altho very popular with the Russians! You could look at an...

It rains we paddle, snow melt we paddle, dam release, we paddle, other rivers around Brecon the Senni a fun but short start to Sennybridge section, Tywi from junction pool down ( runs quite regularly even when other rivers are too low, fed by Lynbrianne) the Taff from Quakers Yard to Pontypridd, Riv...

Re: in need of pyranha s6 parts or similar
The footrest was just foam so that should be easy to shape, seat wise is your shell drilled for one? Or was it a c1? If the latter I know White Water Consultancy have some riot power seats that should go in, then you won't need ratchets or back band.

I used to use the 2" red fins in a quad set up in my Tekno carved amazingly yet would still flat spin easily, the rubber fins were good for rocky rivers tho. White Water Consultancy have both sizes available if you need some new ones
