Re: Hayling Trailers still around?

Companies House Webcheck *doesn't* shows "Hayling Trailer Company Limited (The)" as dissolved, so unless there's something happened very recently, they're still trading.

The Easter weekend is usually the Devises to Westminster Canoe Race: http://www.dwrace.org.uk/, so it'll be very busy.

...Would it [a CRB check] have stopped the Soham Murders? Unlikely, Ian Huntly had been suspected but never arrested or convicted of some sexual offences, thus they wouldn't have shown up on his CRB check and rightly so, as he had not been found guilty of these offences. Re: Waterways for Everyone - Gov Strategy

Yeah... my understanding isn't clear. I've been told they own the riverbed, but not the water... I know some countries take 'ownership' of land to mean ownership of everything immediately between the polygon in question and tapering to the centre of the earth. Ditto upwards to varying altitudes. Ki...

Re: Waterways for Everyone - Gov Strategy

In my opinion, the Strategy is not being driven by a need for access. What is missing in the title is "paid", "by" and "user". It should really be titled "Waterways Paid for by Every User". There's another Government document, the Operational Efficiency Programme: Asset Portfolio in which it is sugg...

Re: RIVER WEY (Goldalming to Weybridge)

If you just fancy an evening paddle there are various places I have found to get in on the Wey. If you go down the A281 and take the road left at Shalford towards Peasmarsh, the road goes over the Wey and you can park on the left on a wide verge. They have just redone the eroded bank so it is now e...

<Pedant> Ordnance Survey of Great Britain National Grid (1936) references should not be written with a comma, and unless it's obvious what map sheet is being used, they should also include the alpha prefixes before the numerals. A few miles from Boughrood, at Aberedw, is the Seven Stars Inn - an excellent restaurant, or cheaper "bar meals". For carbohydrate loading, try the lasagne!

"Standards" doesn't mean you actually have to take the award. Gaining the award is just one way of "proving" competen...
