SUP demo day

Hey everyone,

Looking for a stand up paddle board demo day, preferably in the South East, but any where in the UK would be good.

Squirt Gatherings?

Hey everyone -

So just got hold of my first squirt boat, second hand - but am loving it! Wondered if there was still a meet in August at HPP?

Would give me something to aim for!

Also - after I get a few goes, are there any gatherings/groups that are out and about this year?

Re: For sale - squirt boat model unknown

Thanks for the quick sale and super helpful, got the boat home about 10.30pm after some more traffic, but well worth the trip. Test run in the pool on Friday (obviously had a sit on the living room carpet already...)

Thanks again,

***Current Work*** Sunday 5th Nov. 2017 0.5 km upstream from the disused lock / 3km upstream Yalding weir The bridge has a lot of work going on, covered in scaffolding, there is enough gap under the bridge to paddle through no problem. Re: Advice canoe river trip

Just pick up a map of Scotland and throw a dart at it! You can make the Spey a 5 day trip, the Great Glen Canoe trail can be done via rivers, The Tay if you include Loch Tay. You could probably find a route along most watersheds? I've been looking at Sweden and Finland for a while now - will check o...

Re: OC1 Paddle Whats The Best

I have tried a couple, I would suggest getting out with a group and borrowing some to try. I started with an old plastic Ainsworth, then the big red robson one. I still keep the Ainsworth C100 as a spare, but have got the new river play and river carbon ones from Ainsworth. They are just as stiff an...

Hey Guys, Thought I would let everyone know - I found out the Level 1 training was going on at Holme Pierrpont and have booked on. It needs a minimum of four, not sure how many they have, but it is often cancelled :-( Link - http://www.nwscnotts.com/water/raft-guide-training/ I'm not an organiser, j...

Re: South East Sea Kayaking

I've tried to read all the posts, but there is a lot of repetition, one place in Norfolk that I have spent a lot of time and really love is Wells-next-the-sea, walked and explored a lot of it.

Great place to paddle into the quay, great sea-food and a great place for crabbing.

Hope this helps,

Re: Fastest Solo UK circumnavigation unsupported

Well I was thinking that staying close to the shore and cutting across most bays would be right.

Times/boats/dates would be interesting.

I think it should include weather days too.

Hey, does anyone know of any details for this? Searched previous posts and looked a lot online, but only sketchy old website links/team circumnavigation and very old reports. Any info will be greatly appreciated - UK and also UK & Ireland. Also I'm having trouble finding out whether long bays were c...

Re: TAWE HASSLE.

Dear Tawe boy, England and Wales are the only two countries in the world with this problem, why can't fisherman and landowners realise this? The reasons that have been presented to not have access to a river (by fisherman) have all been found to be false. 1- scaring away fish/disturbing fishermans b...

Re: River Eamont... egress advice

The way we usually paddle it, drive over Eamont bridge directly after the bridge by the traffic lights on the right coming from the A66 there is a small road. On the first corner on the right is a patch of mud/grass opposite a driveway, right next to the arch on the bridge, we usually park one car h...

Re: Association of Paddlers/Coaches

Are there going to be any new L5 with the UKCC scheme? If not it will get very lonely at the top! I think it is a great idea, the AMI does a great job, technical articles, resources, works really well with the BMC/MLTA and if the 'APC' does half as well it will be worth it. Could L5 trainees not be ...

Re: CRB's (move from CODE)

So are you saying you would rather take a little risk on a childs safety than have all coaches fill out a CRB form. Well I disagree but I am obviously fighting a losing battle. If there was a better way, I would do it that way, I agree the system needs to be changed, and have always believed this, b...

Re: CODE is no longer useful

Would people rather there is nothing like a CRB check and then wait until someone offends? To you, me and probably everyone on this forum it has no use, we all have done nothing, we never will, however if there isn't some sort of check then anyone who has offended would be free to do it again right?...

Re: CODE is no longer useful

I didn't realise anyone was against CRB's, something i've never come across. Having volunteered in scouting, as well as coaching and working as an instructor, mostly with children I have always had to have a CRB test (I'm only 21 so was always there) I mean the CRB is of no extra cost to a coach, as...

Re: CODE is no longer useful

As far as I know, if your CRB does come back with any records then it is still up to whoever you work for or the managing organisation as to whether you can still coach. Therefore even if you were a mass murderer, the CRB will say that, but if you're welfare officer doesn't mind and neither do the o...

Just been reading all of the access issues threads on a lot of fishing forums and have noticed that the argument 'Gorge walking' has been found to damage a river environmentally and therefore it has no access to rivers and is causing a problem with access to rivers for paddlers and such like. Is thi...
