Had one of these for a few years now and it's an excellent bit of kit.

Hi Richard.
Saw this a while back. I believe a fitting is available with which to fit a Thule bike carrier. I imagine Morrison's on a saturday morning would be an anxious time :)

Re: High risk sports research - FREE Tablet worth £160

I started to complete the survey but at about 13% completed it gives you a list of sports and asks you to indicate which one you most identify yourself with. Kayaker is not one of the options and you can't move on unless you complete something. Bit of a flaw I think.

Re: Kari-tec roof rack and cycle carriers

Thanks for the link Mike. It appears from Simon's blog that Bikes and kayaks interfere with each other with this set up. I'll need to re-think.

Kari-tec roof rack and cycle carriers

Hoping for some information folks. I use a Kari-tec easy load system and want to fit a bike rack to the back of my VW T5. From photos the Fiamma racks seem to carry the bikes quite high and it looks like it might interfere with the Kari Tec. Does anyone have any experience with this set up? What are...

Not sure that the poor quality is a thing of the past. My Ion bib is barely over 12 months old and leaks like a string vest.

Re: Is Palm gear really that bad ?

I find Palm to be most frustrating. Some of their gear is very well designed and performs brilliantly. i have had a Kaikoura buoyancy aid for a few years now and it is excellent. Similarly, I couldn't do without my Palm paddling mitts and their paddling shoes have been great. On the other hand I hav...

Re: Question about safety for a wet exit.

You've got to be careful to pull out in time. I had a mate who didn't and lets just put it this way- he doesn't kayak much anymore.
Could he get a babysitter? :)

Re: Anglesey campsites

Ewan There is quite a spread in the possible venues and if you suggest Rhoscolyn as a hub then Llyn Padarn would be about a 45 min drive into Llanberis and Point Lynas (Porth Eilian) on the NE corner of Anglesey, about 30 minutes drive. For Rhoscolyn try http://www.outdooralternative.co.uk/index.htm...

Re: "The Dump" a fast, simple way to empty a kayak?

In conditions that have caused you to wet exit you might split more than your mate's sparydeck. I imagine this could be an extremely difficult manouver under such conditions with potentially serious consequences for both boats.

Re: Palm Aleutian Drysuit

I have had two Stikine drysuits and neither lasted the 12 month warranty period without leaking badly. Their customer service is adequate in that they will repair something that should have lasted longer in any case. This is something that a customer should be able to expect as a minumum so they are...

Sorry Wheely - You might consider recording your sighting with the Seawatch Foundation, they appreciate the input and do a very good job of recording cetacean sightings.

My friend Geth and I were surfing the race NW of the Skerries last year and were fortunate enough to find ourselves in the midst of a very large pod of Bottlenose dolphin (conservative estimate of 80-100 animals in small family groups). It is such a privilege to be able to be near such large wild an...

I will .. Take a camera. We were surfing in the overfalls to the NW of the Skerries, accompanied by a young seal that seemed to really enjoy surfing with us, chasing us at times then occasionally showing us the way. Looking North I spotted a fin and within seconds we were treated to the spectacle of...
