Re: car keys
In previous vans (Transit,Dispatch) I got a key cut with no chip so would just open doors. Have used a combination lock key safe and hook it to my towing hitch but not really required now. After a few undesierables were interested in my modern Transit outside my house I have replaced the door lock w...

Re: boat advice please, 90kg with marauder and cyclone
I understand your thinking.... and I thought that once (still harbour to my youth that I need a shorter hp) The Marauder is nothing like these boats in my opinion Any of those conditions you're talking about I would gladly take out my Eclipse knowing that I would still be able to shine as much as my...

Re: boat advice please, 90kg with marauder and cyclone
I used to love my Marauder(about 15years ago) but if I didn't paddle for a while then it was a handful for 10mins. I moved onto a Neutron after it (because of injuries) and now on to others The Scarab/Neutron style kayaks I would expect you to find more stable and have more control over. The Maraude...

Double Sea Kayak for sale
I have a Tahe Marine Revel Duo sea Kayak, glass construction I think. In very good condition with only a few light scrapes that show up as it's white. About the same as a lightly used demo! Had the kayak from new about 7 years and always stored inside. Rudder is worked by foot pedals in the rear. Ha...

Re: What do you wear when surf kayaking???
A Nookie Ti vest and neoprene legs or board shorts depending for 9 months of the year, sometimes the cag option for Spring and Autumn chilly winds. A dry cag or drysuit with thermals for the other 3 winter months depending on how soft I'm feeling. A skull cap and 5mm wetsuit boots too when it's real...

Re: Could you recommend a boat or two please
Plastic has it's place ! Good for club or a rare occasion surf. I think you've answered your question. Composite will be a hell of a lot better in every way, especially the feel of the surf You could get in contact with Skern Lodge as they have a Mega demo fleet in Westward Ho (N Devon). If South Wa...

Re: Could you recommend a boat or two please
I would look at the modern short versions of the long boats ! You would adjust quite quickly and they perform in every condition. A guaranteed smile Ride Eclipse which i would highly recommend but you would have to be extremely lucky to find one secondhand Mega have a great range. Secondhand Bullitt...

Hello Safety Steve Try going along to one of the comps as there will be a mix of surf kayak demos from various manufacturers (Mega,Ride,Kernow) in different models. They are all friendly and chilled and most paddlers will let you try theirs out under the condition of 'you break you pay' if no demo t...

Re: Fin replacement
http://www.m-prodesigns.com do fins AND adapters so you can fit surfboard orientated fins
Otherwise look at Mega (surfkayaks.com) or Ride (ride-kayaks.com)
As for being identical to the other two? That comes down to your set up (which can be changed) and what your preferences are

That's a minefield ! If I heard right, there may be some demos going to be resident at Snowdonia wave park at some point but that is just a rumour. To be fair your better off demoing the various makes/models you're interested in at the same venue which really means going to a comp. Next one is Augus...

Mega Phantom for sale. X tech construction so the boat is very light, stiff and strong. In excellent condition with only minimal paddle and launch marks. Honestly couldn't rightly guess as prezzies from the wife over the last few years. I would just ring them and ask !
Thing you've got to weigh up is how much is your boat to how much you would pay to stop it being trashed in transit
