Re: Do the Dart justice....

https://vimeo.com/1322826 This was the little bit of video footage Jim Mitchelmore took of me and Tom Downs back in July 2008. Epic week of high water on Dartmoor. We were on the upper Dart for over 2 hours scouting and running new adjusted lines. The lines had shifted and tightened form those that ...

Re: RIVER ERME (Harford Bridge to Ivybridge)

Good levels on the Erme yesterday evening. We put on just before 7pm and enjoyed medium flows. The river had already dropped by about 40cm. Reckon it peaked late afternoon/ early evening. It is clear of wood apart from the large tree trunk tight to the left bank upstream of the broken weir that has ...

Re: RIVER ERME (Harford Bridge to Ivybridge)

Did come up this evening, peaking at about 5:30pm at a smooth low level. Still runnable at dusk. Cheers Mike for the heads up. Nearly all the wood has now gone from the river, smooth lines all the way.

Re: Dart Levels - Now with added Twitter!

Nice medium flows last night. A lot of wood on the move in the Upper Dart valley. Was dropping off quickly last night and with no rainfall overnight it had dropped off the ledge by 10cm at 5:20am this morning. Ground is wet though so more runs on the horizon.

Re: Dart Levels - Now with added Twitter!

Put on with Pete Henderson at 8:30pm last night and we hit the start of the surge down the Upper Dart valley. We were paddling low flows, which would equate to lapping on the ledge at the bottom. We paddled out ahead of this from sharah pool down. When we did the shuttle back to Dartmeet the levels ...

Re: Dart Levels - Now with added Twitter!

Upper Dart should be on late evening lastest put on is probably 8:45pm to get down most of it in the light. Bit of a gamble whether the water will make it down into the upper section in time, but it will surge at some point.

Re: Dart Levels - Now with added Twitter!

Had a look at Newbridge at 5:30 this morning, it was a foot off the ledge. The rain that fell last night on the moor has all been soaked up by the dry ground.

Bliss Stick Scud

Bliss Stick Scud in bright yellow. Had very little use, bought the boat about a month ago to bridge the gap while I was waiting for a new jefe. The guy who had it before me used it only 5 or 6 times and the boat looked like new, with only a couple of tiny scratches on the hull. I used it for a coupl...

Re: Dart Levels

Low but the ground is full of water so any rain we get will make it's way straght into the river. See what rain falls over the next couple of days. Have a look on Metcheck for the predicted rainfall over the next few days to give you some idea of what to expect. Would need about 10mm for the loop to...

Re: Dart Levels

It has been raining steady on the edge of the moor all morning. Dartcom might be on a funny 1 again?
Tom Downs is going to check the plym. The erme is on the rise at the moment but still low. Reckon an early afternoon dart inspection is on the cards.

7mm so far on the moor, tomorrow looks like it should be a go. Metcheck's predictions have shifted in the last few hours. Looking like midday should see the best levels on the moor. Fingers crossed

Re: Dart Levels

REckon be on from 8pm, for anyone who goes up don't be put off if newbridge is off the ledge, up top it could be surging at medium flows. Won't neccessarily have made it down to the bottom when you get to newbridge.
