Re: Which kit - scouts grant application

When ordering your buoyancy aids make sure you choose ones with 50N minimum buoyancy as per Scout Regs. We had one group get a load of the Yak Juniors and they are only 35N so failed the weight test. We use the Peak Centre Vest. Easy to adjust and are a nice fit compared to the zip counterparts. The...

Spey Levels

Anyone know what sort of level the Spey is?

Looking at going up next week for a bit of open boating but don't really want to drive all that way to scrape down a river.

The Grantown guage is at 0.57m.

Cheers

The weir at Darley Abbey when the guage reads 1.46m.

Exeter is a bit too far for me.

Re: Pyranha i4 for sale

i4 still for sale. Sorry for not replying to some PM's - been a busy month. I have included some photos showing the hull. The hull is in good condition with no deep scratches. There is a little nick off one of the rails but this doesn't compromise the hull in anyway and is just superficial - I tried...

Re: The River Ashop

We ran this last year after LOTs of rain and it was still a bit srappy in places.

We have not had that much rain over the last couple of weeks so I will be supprised if it is runable.

We were talking with the designer at the Canoexpo.

I think he said it had to be a play boat so that it could get onto the plain better, and a bigger boat would be hard to control or something.

He was keen to try it out on a bigger boat though.

We take Scouts up there quite often but for mountain activities and not water. The only flat water that springs to mind would be Carsington Res nr Wirksworth etc. Only a short drive. Cost about £3 per boat for the day, free parking (if your using the watersports centre), changing facilities with sho...
