Holiday Cottages or Gites in or around Briancon

Planning a family trip to Briancon area in summer (late June, early July), does anyone know of or can recommend decent family accommodation for up to 8 people - cottage or gites preferably?[/img]

Jackon plastic?

I've had my Jackson 4Fun for a few months, 1st run was on the Braan in high flow (took the wrapping off in the car park it was that new) and if you know that river there are plenty of obstacles to scratch and dent shiny new boats - even in high flow! To date the 4Fun hasn't suffered any serious dama...

Paddling the Cononish a few years back, my mate Phil started his run down the last technical and meaty Gd 4 rapid just up from the take out. As he exited the 1st stopper on the rapid he snapped his Werners - this was not the ideal location to start learning your C1 stroke. Fortunately the 3rd member...

Anyone 4Fun

The Jackson 4Fun certainly has good river running credentials as I and the boat have survived trips down the Braa...

The Wet Water of Minnoch

I was in one of 2 groups who ventured into the depths of the New Galloway Forest and paddled the middle and lower sections of the Water of Minnoch (see description on this website). Water level was high - almost flood level - but had dropped 2 or 3 feet from Saturdays full spate condition. This is a...

Sad News

I only ever got the chance to paddle with Andy the once (Falls of Lora) but had the pleasure of spending a couple of drunken evenings in his company at Bridget and Andy's home. He was an inspiration to all associated with boating in Scotland and if I only ever paddle a fraction of the rivers Andy ha...
