I use Safeguard, but I have a campervan. I used NFU for my old van and probably still would if they did campervan insurance.

Re: Emergency breathing when pinned
The problem with taking air from the boat is you soon create a partial vacuum that prevents you drawing any more air. You can probably get 5-10 deep breaths (unless you exhale into the kayak). This is what we could manage from the DragoRossi system. This is hopefully enough in most situations though...

Re: board bags
2nd vote for Canyon Gear. I have one and have used it when travelling on non-kayak friendly airlines. On kayak friendly airlines I don't bother with anything as the bag obviously adds unnecessary weight.

What more could anyone desire? A numberplate... ...judging by the picture? Number plates are over rated... I had mine stolen yesterday! I drive a T5 2.0l remapped to 170bhp (255 45 R18 tyres). If I drive it like Miss Daisy with no boats on the roof I get about 40mpg, if I drive it like its stolen w...

Re: Commercial provider charge at Tryweryn
To be honest with you, I never had an issue with paying to paddle at the Tryweryn, I felt I was paying for the use of the facilities rather than actually paddling the river (dam releases cost money?). I almost feel guilty using their changing facilities these days. It was just easier popping into th...

Still for sale, make me an offer if you are interested.

No, I think it is only the old T4 ones that fold down. The back is fixed on this one.

Yes, videos...Mölheimbekken, a curious short and steep run that was mentioned in Simon's post: Mölheimbekken, is a must, fun and worth the hike in again and again. The Mölheimbekken does look good. I went and looked at it with CallumS on Simon's recommendation, but when we got there it was at least...

Re: Advice on Northern Norway in August
Northern Norway is full of gems. Tore's guide on http://www.norww.com is a good place to start, but there is so much more and it doesn't take that much finding once you are in the right area. I've been up there a couple of times in August and there has still been water around. There are online gauge...

My votes for Best line would go to Ben Marr for the first descent of Site Zed and Best Drop would have to go to Sam Ellis for Cauldrons Snout. Agreed. Although I don't remember seeing any HD footage of the snout, may have missed it though and shouldn't have effected the outcome really. https://vime...

Re: 2012 rider of the year awards: winner's reel!
Some amazing boating in there and some decidedly average boating by today's high standards! The paddling is great but what's going on with the categories and 'judging'... Ben Marr Site Zed- that's a line not a drop. A drop is, er, a waterfall, we all know that. No place for Sam Ellis? when the winni...
