I don't think you are alone Tim. It had about 700 views and 70 watchers. Gone to someone who appreciates it. Funny to think it nearly got burnt in a skip a few years back!

Re: Angmagssalik - new start?
It certainly is. In the words of Jack Clarke in "Angmagssalik Round Britain":
So was born the Kayel Angmagssalik Eskimo Kayak, eighteen feet eight inches long, nineteen inches across the beam, with a bow like a sword-fish and the lure of a beauty queen.

Re: RIVER AVON (Avon Tyrell to Christchurch Harbour)
The Swan is still there but Pulborough is actually on the River Arun in West Sussex, not the Dorset Avon. The Arun is a great pub paddle and, being entirely tidal, is not plagued by access issues like the Avon.

Thanks for the good wishes guys.
Another distinctive thing about the Khats was that I had identified most of the aluminium tubes with dymo tape according to their descriptions in the manual. I might have done the same with the K1.

The Khats is serial number QFV04005B998 (marked on the deck at the stern). The bow assembly was awaiting repair and is not complete. The boat has a distinctive home-made footrest: http://lh5.ggpht.com/_bbNWy-6cegA/Sqp9X73TNBI/AAAAAAAABLo/4NFDUOJ5BaM/s720/DSC_0069.JPG The boat dates from around 1999 ...

Stolen Feathercraft folding kayaks
A Feathercraft Khatsalano and a Feathercraft K1 have been stolen from my shed in South London. Both were packed in big black bags. Both boats are Teal (Green)in colour. Also missing is a Klatwa 2-piece greenland paddle. The Khats was well used and not quite complete but the K1 was in good nick. Feat...

Re: PRIVATE BEACH
The public has a right to navigate in tidal waters (ie the sea and tidal navigable rivers), and no grant of the soil can interfere with this. They also have ancillary rights, such as anchoring, that are necessary to navigation: Gann v Free Fishers of Whitstable (1865) 11 English Reports 1305. The r...

Re: PRIVATE BEACH
While some beaches may be privately owned I'm pretty sure seafarers have the right to land anywhere on the coast, privately owned or not, and also to make their way across private land from their landing place to a highway. Unfortunately I can't find chapter and verse on it.

Pub Paddles - Best Short Canoe Trips in the South of England
The South East of England has a dire reputation as a paddling location, no doubt deservedly so for those whose interests are white water rivers or spectacular coastal scenery. Perhaps this is why, until now, there has been no guide to paddling in the South East although the area certainly offers ple...

Re: Tucking away a Canoe Club Nest Egg
Lloyds TSB are paying up to 4% on balances between £5k and £7k on their "Vantage" current account. I think £1000 has to be paid in each month but it doesn't have to lie in the account, it can go straight back to where it came from. It is pretty good interest for an instant access account in current ...

What do you think - in general - of the idea of a signed petition/letter? Multiple submissions of essentially the same response, or single responses with multiple signatures, will inevitably be treated as a single response. As with the Assembly for Wales Sustainability Committee consultation*, it w...

Re: Waterways for Everyone - Gov Strategy
The document is quite positive about the benefits of canoeing. Perhaps it would be worth making the point that the managed waterways system doesn't provide suitable conditions for many canoeing disciplines and the policy should aim to look at smaller unregulated rivers (and lakes).
