Look up and in the direction you want your boat to go - Instantly transformed my paddling from terrible to just quite bad.

I'll second that. I've had replacement grab handles and drain bung - fully expected to pay but 'no charge' not even for postage!

Re: "Kayaks scare fish"
We were paddling at HPP one evening and they were closing early to reconfigure the course. Out of curiosity we hung around until the course had been drained. We couldn't believe the number of fish, and the size, that were clearly visable in the shallow pools which were left. Paddling certainly doesn...

Lemonroyd Weir is on the River Aire and is the weir that forms the 'Aire Wave'. This trial will have serious implications for the playboaters who use (or used!) this weir.

Re: Lomo spraydeck sizing
I have a keyhole size for my Big Dog Force. I emailed them the measurements of the cock pit and they sent me a bigdeck. It was way too big so sent it back. The key hole deck still isn't that tight.
Great deck for the money though!

Re: Trent lock is running!
River right tends to be best at between 1.55 & 2.0 after that it's one long stopper.
River left comes in at about 2.2 and closes in at around 2.6
The levels are somewhat unreliable though as what is a good level one day isn't that good on another. Don't know why that is??

Re: Aquabound Shred Carbon - Comment?
Thanks Harry, it's good to get comments from someone with first hand experience. Most of the reviews I've read are for their sea paddles but reflect your own experiences (as long as you buy a 1 piece). I'm trying to find somewhere local to the East Midlands who stock them so I can go and have a look...

Re: Aquabound Shred Carbon - Comment?
Thanks for your advice guys. It didn't take long for the Werner brigade to make an appearance! I'm a bit dubious about using price as a guide to quality, a couple of weeks ago one of our group snapped the shaft of his AT2 Flexi's and at £400 you would think they'd be indistructable. So the jury's st...

Aquabound Shred Carbon - Comment?
Does anyone have any experience of these paddles? I'm looking for reasonably priced lightish paddles (for mostly grade 3 but hoping to progress) and the Aquabound Shred Carbon seems to fit the bill. Especially as you can get one for about 130 quid. There aren't many reviews around though so I was wo...

Re: Newark weir water levels
We've had a few 'discussions' with the Bailif and fishermen and made the point that the Trent is a navigation. No-one has argued with that too strongly but the banks are private so we seal launch off the wall in to the main Trent/Canal and paddle under the bridge to the wier. If there are fishermen ...

Hey Wopo,
I know you don't paddle in the snow, but not working in it either?!!?!
As discussed yesterday I'll have the paddles.
Will give you a ring sometime to collect & bring the money.
See you around

Hi,
Amazed to see you live in Sturton. I also live there and suprised I haven't seen another 'boat on car roof' as it's such a small place.
Regarding your questions about the G-Force 6.1, My son has one, I'm almost 6ft and I can't get in it!
Possibly see you around

I wouldn't automatically go for a bigger boat. I too had a juice and swam a lot. Traded it in for a Jackson 4Fun which has proved to be much more forgiving resulting in far less swims.
