Not many hazards as such the odd tree down but easily passed. Today the river level was well below the white line marker. This is the time of year when the spawning beds are needing protecting and the original agreement for the river is to be paddled above that line in Nov/Dec.

In particuler I am interested to find out who was involved in making the agreement as it appears to me that it is a but more of a restriction made by the fishermen/landowners as oposed to a fair agreement that benefits both parties. The agreement has been done adhoc without full consultation. The ri...

If you look at the rivers - north west region - Lower Derwent and click on weirs it talks about the 'agreement'. I use the site loads after heavy rain as the lakes back it up for a while - however you are right slap bag in/near town on the main fishing run looked after by workington anglers associat...

Decks popping on Burns?

Recently ran a few drops in a Burn and my deck popped twice/in succession on the drops. Quite happy to put it down to bad technique/luck but this hasn't happened before anyone had similar issues? (Plenty of water with steep drops into pools and deck gone, not to old a deck either).
