Re: EJ resigns
Lots of talk in the US about the WW kayaking industry being in crisis--and EJ's resignation is seen to be part of that. Jackson, Dagger, Liquidlogic are all in trouble, it seems. The WW side of thing is not making enough money. The EU retaliatory tax against Trump at 25% can't be helping any of the...

Karma/Superhero swap?
Bit of a longshot but worth a try. Does anyone have a Medium Karma they're not feeling the love for and fancy trying a Superhero. This is a 2015 Superhero in Wolverine, the last year they were made. I think the Superhero is a beast for UK rivers, short, highly (as in VERY HIGHLY) manoevrable and hug...

Re: Repair Jackson Cross Link?????????
Might be worth taking to an auto plastic repair specialist. I know of at least one crosslink Jackson that was successfully repaired, though in the area as you describe it may be too difficult. Worth asking though.

Re: What kayak for creaky legs?
Depends on your intended use but IMHO Jackson's have the best balance between comfort and ease of use. You can virtually set them to suit you within a minute, then just make slight tweaks, possibly even think about a Sweet Cheeks for even more comfort. They tend to have large cockpits too for ease o...

Thanks guys. No longer in the Pyrenees, must remember to change location. I've contacted the local coastguard so just waiting to hear back from them now. Much appreciated advice.

Flare disposal.
I have 2 Red Handle Flare Mk. 8 that have an expiry date of 05/11. How and/or where can you safely dispose of these, assuming they would not be reliable to use now?

Re: Wanted large playboat
Bump... Can't believe I'm struggling to find a large playboat... This is a first 😳😂 Think about it. Most popular playboats are Jacksons, then perm any options from a few others. Jacksons have now gone up in price by 25%....so have Dagger, Liquidlogic (though very rare in playboat world anyway) I gu...

Re: Liquid Logic Jefe Grande for sale
Tell you what, last thing I need is another creek boat but if you lived nearby I’d have it in a shot. £200 ? That’s almost giving it away mate. The market must be dead if that doesn’t shift but if my fears are justified re price of new boats going sky high then that’s almost like a future investment...

Re: Is it true that.........?
That's the point I'm making. Are Daggers and Jacksons brought in from America going to be subject to this tax? Wavesport and Pyranha of course are manufactured in the UK so won't be subject to a retaliatory tax. You make a good point though. Some Daggers are made in the UK under licence ( Mamba I gu...

Is it true that.........?
Kayaks, canoes paddles etc will become subject to the EU retaliatory Trump tax. Rumours of kayaks costing £1600 and who knows what else? Could be good short term for the second hand boat sales but disastrous overall. Wavesport and Pyranha should do well locally but Dagger, Jackson, etc etc.

Re: Rams butting cars Isle of Mull
No real answer to it. I've known it happen to two friends' cars on Cumbrian fells. It's not only the Rams, ewes do it too. Farmers should have public liability insurance to cover it but it's never a smooth claim and it would be far better not to have to worry about it. I'd say if there's two cars th...

'Professional welder'
What's a professional kayak welder? You see a lot of split boats advertised as professionally welded. If fact I don't think you ever see a non-professionally welded boat. So is there a standard qualification or do you just get to call yourself a professional after completing so many repairs. That ca...

Re: From rock gardens to rivers - advice please
This is exactly the tread I was going to start, same interests and same choice of boats. I’ve tried the fusion and the stratos and would lean towards the stratos however prefer the idea of a boat along the dimensions of the Jackson but as said it’s expensive. My local shop in the SW only appears to...

Wine bags. Perfect. Come in combination of sizes, usually 3 or 5 litre. Pack them in to fill as much space as possible.......once empty of course.

Re: From rock gardens to rivers - advice please
If I were to choose one boat from the list it would be the Jackson........but it's expensive! Have you seen this video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=y1aLHlwerkE So since RG is for rock garden it should be good in.....rock gardens. And since the hull is the same (exact same?) to their Karma unlimited...

Re: Only Allowed 2 Boats
Just demo a Nomad Gordon. As you said, they're popular for a reason. Seriously, I spent ten years avoiding it for much the same reasons as yourself then finally paddled one and realised I'd wasted too much time on Hoss/Diesel/Habitat/Diesel 80/Shiva......and loads of others. I'd describe it as a boa...
