Re: 15' Prospecter and bikes on the car, How?

Not as big as you'd think, unless you're confusing the Q5 and Q7! Anyway, I managed with uprights and mounted the 3 bikes on the roof. Was super tight and a little akward but managed.
Thanks for info 'stonercanoe'

15' Prospecter and bikes on the car, How?

Wondering if anybody with experience has any ideas as to how I can get my 15' prospector and three bikes onto the car (Audi Q5). At the moment I usually just chuck the boat on upside down on the roof, but this will interfere with the bike rack hanging off the boot which I usually use if just taking ...

Re: River Orchy - Bridge of Orchy to Falls of Orchy

There are 2 gauges on the bridge, which has always confused me. But from memory the one facing downstream where you have to walk down the side to see it(as opposed to the one facing across to the river left bank) seems more like what I've noticed compared to sepa. Paddled the Orchy yesterday, we got...

Re: River Yarrow - Yarrowford to General's Brig

There are a number of trees down in the first half of the river, some of these could move down stream in high water. We had to portage one of them on an easy flat section. Beware and proceed with caution.

Notters, out.

How easy is it to make splits, are there kits for doing it? Is it some sort of spigot you glue into the shaft?

Broken blades, what to do?

I have a set of mitchell blades (jaguar carbon hybrid thingys). cut a long story short we parted company and now they are broken across the blade, still attached but rather more flexible than i'd be comfortable with. Mitchell want £150 to replace the blade which is prety steep but considering the ma...

Is that the consultation process complete on this then? terrible news. Whats the output on the scheme, not looked at the application. We had an archimedes screw type system installed locally on the ettrick water. It cost £1.3m and the output is 210kw at max capacity (225homes). Not brilliant when yo...

Re: Request for a new Scottish WW Guidebook please!

It would be good to see a new and updated guidebook as there are a fair few changes to some rapids, access/egress for rivers. not to mention all the rivers up in Torridon/Galloway etc there's probably a few that need shortened descriptions and or removed due to lack of use/interest as well. What are...

There's no issue with kayaking on St Mary's or the Megget, I think you,ve maybe read something about the sailing club? I've paddled on both and Talla. Good for just pottering around with the family and rolling practice or just general distance/fitness stuff. Scottish water only had an issue when I t...
